Tori Amos and Every Outfit

It can be tricky to build an outfit around "merch" which is usually gimmicky or niche or sports themed. Here I felt up to the challenge of creating an eclectic, greater-than-the-sum-of-its-parts look using pieces that each contribute to a very specific vibe.   vest-thrifted from Phoenix Boutique originally Halogen from Nordstrom (similar here ), tee-Etsy seller  Warungnyabagus  shorts-H&M (similar here ), hat- Every Outfit Podcast Merch , earrings-Amazon seller Woworama ,  kerchief-Etsy seller  indiancottonaura , ring and bracelet-- Ana Luisa , bag- The Frick Pittsburgh , shoes-- Madewell I'm not sure what that specific vibe is, but I am loving how this outfit came together. Tori Amos has been a bedrock for me since the 90s. I wouldn't be the redheaded woman I am today if not for her, hands down!  Her rendering on this tee really pops with my hair, and then we have the unexpected pairing of leopard shorts with a long office-setting vest. It shoul...

Cowboy Boot Floral Spring

Florals for spring....groundbreaking. But paired with cowboys boots, and a thrifted cardigan, they are a stylish sight for sore eyes. What a winter is has (and is still) been. But hope, and daylight savings time are on the horizon. Here's a take on transitional dressing as we kick off March!   cardigan-Thrifted from Phoenix Boutique , shirt- Boden (similar here ), skirt & belt -- Amazon , boots-- Coconuts from DSW , bracelets- Nordstrom , mask-- Maskc You may recall these boots from this post . I much prefer them with this silhouette. I think they'd also be great with some dresses this spring.  As for transitional season outfitting, layers are key. I'm rocking a thermal turtleneck, tights, and knee-high socks underneath this top, sweater, skirt combination. Hopefully more regular posting will be happening this month with switching the clocks and brighter days ahead. Thanks for reading!

Falling for Shorts

For most folks, shorts season runs from May to August, but for this outfitter and a good pair of tights I extend short wears well into fall. Here are some past posts featuring autumnal (and in one case winter) shorts! Fall Shorts , Tweed and Leopard , Statement Sweater .   I recently acquired a new autumnal short that became a go-to October item.  cardigan-- Lara Knit thrifted via Phoenix Boutique , shirt / shorts -Boden, sunnies- Kate Spade , belt / earrings -Amazon, boots- LL. Bean , bag-Zac Posen(similar here ) I love the rich tone of this shirt with the neutral plaid of the shorts. I don't know if both of them being from Boden pairs them together so well, but they nicely compliment each other. And I love how this elbow-patch cardigan can just be thrown over this look for comfy/cozy fall vibes and that it hits right where the shorts end for some proportion play.

All The Fall Feels

As the bits of scattered leaves in these pics indicate fall is here friends! Autumn is such a rich sartorial season what with prints, textures, and layers. Here I'm very much serving Autumnal Office!   blazer/belt-Gap(similar here and here ), top-Anthropoloige(similar here ) via Phoenix Boutique , pants- Banana Republic , sunnies-Kate Spade, necklaces-- Mejuri and Benevolence LA , rings- Mejuri , bag- J.Jill , boots-- Kelly & Katie via DSW What I really love about this outfit is the colors and silhouette, both feel very fresh after a sticky summer, but also timeless, a classic outfit formula of turtleneck, trousers, and a blazer.   If you follow me on Instagram , you may have seen this post  of these trousers that I wore to work for a full day (a day with in-person meetings) and neglected to fully remove the tag. 🤦 but no one noticed, hence the advantage of a looser trouser trend.  You may recall this blazer from several other fall outfit posts in pa...
