Versayce

Another Rent the Runway triumph in this 80's inspired dress that's giving off equal parts edgy and tacky with a bit of Versace flavor. I say Versace, but I really mean Versayce in the style of Nomi Malone, which a recent gift of sunglasses  sent me into a Showgirls tailspin....  dress-- Ronny Kobo Collective via Rent the Runway , bag-Anne Klein (similar here )  shoes-Marc Fischer(similar here ), bracelet-- Bayou With Love , rings-- Mejur i earrings-- Wisteria Sky Boutique via Etsy sunnies-- Diff Eyewear If I really wanted to be an 80's power-bitch I would have busted out some black stilettos and teased hair, but instead I opted for my go-to summer shoe and the same old do'. This dress is not my usual style, but it was fun to switch things up and take a bit of a sartorial walk on the wild side. And now for some credits, the art work in the background is by a local mural artist Raymer  and this dress was worn for a dinner out at Morcilla  highly recommend...

Leather Jacket Season Part 2

jacket / boots -Nordstrom, shirt-Gap(similar here ), pants-Banana Republic Factory(similar here ), sunnies-DIFF Eyewear(similar here ), pin- Wildfang Another great leather jacket look for fall! In keeping with the theme of my first LJOOTD post , I'm again posing in from of a colorful mural! This one of the Hulk and Wolverine can be found in the strip district near the 31st street bridge.  The tag is "crass boys" but I couldn't find anything from a quick Google for more info.  As to the outfit, sporting my new combat boots with this jacket, while mixing in some quirky polka-dot pants. And what badass female ensemble would be complete without a Ruth Bader Ginsburg pin! Representing  gender equality and powerful women, and hoping for a brighter, socially just future.  Election days is upon us. If you haven't already, please make a plan to vote, either in person, or mailing in your ballot here in the next few days.  Voting is a right that many have fought, we...

Oringally I Was Thinking Red Heels

coat-J.Crew(similar here ), sweater-Nasty Gal(similarish here ), shirt-BCBG(similar here ), pants-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), loafers-DSW(similar here ), necklace - Le Tote , ring- Jewel Mint , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ) Loving the color here! And I also love the mix of the sophisticated, tweed cropped trousers and the "distressed" effect of this punk rock sweater finished off by a topaz statement necklace. I let the colors dictate the pieces of this outfit, AND I was going to wear red heels with this look, but decided that functionally it wasn't going t fly, so I opted for navy loafers hence, the title of this post.  These shots were taken with Mr. Keller's smart phone and I'm kind of loving how they pick up the vibrancy of the colors AND their contrasts, particularly with the necklace photo. We shot these pics in front of the mural on the Veterans Leadership Program building in the South Side. Public art is ...
