Staying Brighter Longer

Hello Friends! It's been an extremely long break from posting, but now that we've gained an hour of sunshine I'm feeling rejuvenated and motivated to capture outfit pics to post for those of you still left and interested. The main reason for my blogging hiatus was that I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last fall. I had surgery to remove my thyroid and after follow-up all signs point to being cancer-free!!! However, this has left my throat and voice effected. Thankfully I have lots of turtlenecks and collared shirts to coverup my surgery scar for the time being as I continue to heal and recovery.  I hope you all know deep down, that while I wasn't posting I most certainly was still outfitting, case in point....  coat-H&M(similar here ), vest-Asos(more options here and here ), shirt-Wildfang(similar here ), skirt- Mimu Maxi  leggings- Spanx , rings- Mejuri , earrings- Amazon mask/chain- MASKC This outfit is a direct inspiration from this Vogue article. A Rent the Runway Coat Vote!

Mr. Keller and I are going to see The Head and The Heart  as our Valentine's Day gift to each other, and since it's been awhile I figured I'd utilize a little Rent the Runway to wear something special. But, unlike past rentals I have my eye on some statement outerwear pieces.... So, it's time for a new Rent the Runway Vote , coat edition! Please, leave your pick in the comments below. #1  Calypso St. Barth This cape has a fun Russian Folktale feel to it with the embroidery and fringe. Definitely outside my usual style aesthetic, but that's the fun with rentals you can try something out of the box without having to commit. #2  Elliatt I think a pale blazer in winter is super chic. This open-front number has an interesting "swoop" detail and could be paired with a variety of pieces in my closet.  #3  Hunter Bell Doesn't this "cocoon" coat look cozy? Love the pattern and the color, so vibrant and would really make a stat...

The Layer Game

In case you weren't aware, it's Winter folks! Snow, wind, freezing temps are in full effect, and now layering up is a must to survive the season. So, hello tights under leggings, underpants, over doubled-up socks! AND since it's so blistery cold and dark, it's been difficult to shoot outfit pics, so I'm highlighting some of my favorite layered looks over the years! (links to original posts highlighted) Here it's tights under jeans, which you can't see, but trust they are there. Also, unseen is the long-sleeved tee under the button-up, that's under the sweater. Scarf, coat, and sneakers finish this casual winter-tine look! Here , no tights, as these wool jodhpurs are lined and more fabric creates unwanted static. Material type is an important factor when laying, static cling and discomfort are just two of the unwanted outcomes of unfriendly fabrics rubbing together. I also have a jacket underneath my overcoat, and of course a scarf.  H...
