Outfits Not Just Clothes

Here I'm channeling Lady Mary in Mourning Realness, right? What makes this not just another all black outfit, is the textures, jewelry, and intention. Granted, the lighting here is a bit stark and I'm totes pale and flat-haired but, I think you can see that the top has a silky front and knit sleeves, while the skirt has a elegant sheen to it. shirt- Shilla The Labe l via Le Tote (similar here ), sweater- French Connection via Le Tote (similar here ), trousers-Banana Republic(similar here ) , necklace- Jewel Mint , shoes- Dollhouse (similar here ) Two things that make this look more than just a run-of-the-mill office outfit.  First, the play on stripes with the cuffs of the shirt appearing like an extension of the bands on the sweater's sleeves, AND with the shirt's collar topping off the sweater. It's almost like one piece, which brings me to my second point. There's a bit of a trend right now with garments that mimic the layered look of a shirt and sweater but are one stand alone piece.  For example: J.Crew This is the same idea as my look.
