A Bit of a Spring Awakening

Hello! Oh my, winter is rough and life has been busy, and at the same time the days move at a glacier's pace. Yes, it has been quite some time since my last post , which if we're being honest, was a bit lack luster. And probably no one may even be reading this, but it was a gorgeous over this past weekend, I wore this dress and coat combo and got some pictures!  Wind Gust! coat-H&M(similar here ), dress-Nordstrom Rack(similar here ), sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , earrings- Etsy , necklace-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), belt-Gap(more belts here ), boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom I picked this dress up on boxing day, aka December 26th at my local Nordstrom Rack . I posted about that excursion on Instagram for those who follow me there. I love how this works as both a winter and spring look with the black background of the floral. So far the handful of times I've worn this frock I've coordinated the styling in black, but there are other tones in the pattern, like the past...

Black & Navy Flowers thru Windowpanes

On a warmish day here recently, I had some fun with a eclectic outfit for the daycare pickup run.  coatigan- Nordstrom Rack , sweater-Mango(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), combat boots-Nordstrom(similar here ), ring- Skelton Jewelry , lips- MAC nail- tenoverten I've never been one to shy away from an eclectic OOTD, as seen here and here . For this outfit I layered a cropped sweater top under a coatigan as a mid-layer then shed my overcoat for a few quick pics on the way to daycare pickup. These pull-on flannel pants are such a fun take on winter loungewear. The print suggests a more springtime vibe, but the dark colors and fabric are right in line with winterwear. The combat boots, dark lip, and darker nail give the overall look a bit of edge, while the ring is a subtle accessory, no need for any other jewelry. Was this a bit much for a school run? Do the teachers, kids, and other parents even notice?  Am I wearing elevated clown pants? Should I have stood...

#Turtleneck Tuesday 2021!

I started highlighting turtleneck looks back in November with this post  with a burgundy turtleneck under a linen shift dress, topped with a blazer. I showcased a variety of outfits featuring a basic turtleneck-- here , here , and here . Well with a new year comes a new take on the turtleneck. I love all of the textures in this shot.  jacket- Nordstrom Rack , turtleneck- Scotch & Soda (available here from Poshmark ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), socks-Target(more options here ), sneakers-Zara(more options here ), ring- Skelton Jewelry Instead of the standard black turtleneck I went with a colorful striped version boasting a ruffled neckline. I first featured this vintage-esque knit back on a chilly May day here . Since then it's not seen much action, but now that we are in the blossoming of a new year and colder season I think it'll start getting a more regular rotation. For today I styled it with a midweight long jacket with a windowpane-plaid print to amp up the p...

Argyle, Polka Dots, & Leopard Print

cardigan-J.Crew(more cardigans here ), pants-Banana Republic Factory(similar here ), flats-Dr. Scholl's Shoes(similar here ), sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , necklace-Benevolence LA(similar here ), ring- Mejuri There is A LOT of print going on in this look, but the neutral color palette and simple silhouette keep things grounded. I find outfit inspiration from a variety of sources and sites.  Some style suggestions can be kind of over-the-top and not at all realistic for my lifestyle or budget, but the idea for this outfit " wearing a cardigan as a shirt " is just a gem. It doesn't require the purchase of anything new (in fact it brings this old cardigan out of the dresser), it's applicable to a all sorts of body types, occasions, personal styles, and it's a fun way to experiment with sweaters. I accessorized with simple gold jewelry, my go-to sunnies, and went with a chignon of sorts for quite a chic little look for fall!
