Sweater, Jeans, & Stevie

There's nothing too fashion forward with this OOTW, nor is it pushing any major style boundaries. However it does feature two statement-making accessories with a simple base of a sweater and jeans...  coat-H&M(similar  here ), sweater- Quince , jeans- Levi's , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(more options  here ), earrings- Amazon , necklace-Benevolence LA(similar  here ), boots- DSW , tote--Stevie Nicks(similar  here ) Yes, I'm carrying a Stevie Nicks tote bag that I picked up at her concert back in September of 2023!!!! It's quite roomy, has an interior pocket, and a zip closure so not your standard tote by any means. The second statement piece of this look are these western boots! Even thought I grew up in a rural setting I haven't ever really explored a Cowboy boot, or much of a Western aesthetic. I'm branching out with these neutral toned boots and wearing them with a more preppy/minimalist outfit. Dipping a toe in, so to speak. We shall see as the season pro...

Dress & Sweater Combo 1

I picked up this dress in the spring and have worn it casually throughout the summer. Love how it coordinates with this oversized pullover I've had for a few years. Grabbed some sneakers, a ballcap, and sunglasses for a day out an about.  And now And some accessory details! Another sweater change-up! dress-Universal Standard(more options here ), sweater-Nordstrom Rack(similar here ), hat- Gap , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , bag- Herschel , necklaces- Mejuri , bracelet- BaYou with Love , sneakers-Ascis(similar here )  There's a lovely tone-on-tone/monochromatic effect happening with the color story of burgundy, mauve, and lavender in this outfit. There's surprising amount of versatility in styling this sweater with the dress. I went with an unexpected, skewed wrap around for the first series of pics, then donned it traditionally, and lastly slung it over the tote.  Be on the look out for an upcoming post on another dress & sweater combo with this maxi-dress...

Holiday Outfit Formula

One of my standard go-to outfit formulas around the holiday season is layering a sweater over a dress, revolutionary I know... 🤨 and truth be told, a sweater/dress combo can veer toward the dowdy, as kind of seen here . But it can also be a bit romantic... cardigan-Ava via Le Tote , dress--Boden(similar here ) earrings-- Wisteria Sky Boutique via Etsy , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , loafer--Anne Klein(similar here ) For this take on a sweater with a dress I went with a nipped-in cardigan and printed jersey.  The mix of patterns and textures elevate the outfit playing on a sense of whimsy and romance. The jewelry, especially the earrings help dress-up this knit and soft frock. This is definitely a festive, yet subtle look that can be worn over the course of the winter into the beginnings of spring. For why else do we light  up trees and inflate Santas in our yards if not to mark the symbolic death and rebirth of the Sun, shining hope toward the new life of spring!  That ...

A Holiday Sweater

There are so many approaches to holiday dressing. You can go the quirky route with an ugly Christmas sweater, the glitzy route with sparkles, go for a comfy look in matching PJs, or just try to stay warm. For this look I went with a classic go-to outfit uniform, sweater over a dress.  sweater-Saks Off Fifth(more options here ), dress-Gap(similar here ), tights-Target, loafers- G. H. Bass , sunnies- Diff Eyewear I love the idea of fair isle sweater for holiday wear, it's festive without being too on-the-nose and you can wear all winter long, as I did in previous posts  here and here . For those outfits I went with a more menswear route, here I'm going feminine with a springtime dress. Sure, this may come off a little dowdy, but I'm loving the color story of navy, robin's egg blue, and grey. Plus, there's the general hygge-ness of this look, again a perfect holiday vibe!
