Culotting!

sweater-BCBG(more options here via Poshmark ), culottes- Mango , watch-Michael Kors(similar here ), loafers-Zara(similar here ) I love the "cuts" of this outfit. The side slits in the sweater, and it's subsequent high-low hem, the cinch of these high-waisted culottes, their front crease, their wide cropped leg. The overall silhouette may seem simplistic at first glance, but when you take a moment to notice the details there are these juxtapositions of a push-pull/loose-fitted framing of the body. That's one of the things I love about culottes, how they create shape and push the silhouette of what would normally be a simple top and bottom.

From Comfy to Classy

blazer-Ines de le Fressange for Uniqlo(current collection here ), blouse-Urban Outfitters(similarish here ), skirt-BCBGeneration(more skirts here ), tights- J.Crew , loafers-Zara(a badass version here ), bracelet-Gifted from World Finds Last week I was all about staying comfortable with leggings and a knit hat in this post, here . For today's OOTD I'm bringing classy-chic-realness in mixed prints and velvet. All of these pieces have done the rounds in various other outfits, but this is the first pairing of this blouse and skirt, which is surprising because each print speaks so well to the other. I only happened to notice it when these two garment ended up near to each other in a closet reshuffle. Just goes to show you, it helps to revise your wardrobe organization every so often.

Orange You Glad I Didn't Say Banana

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), dress-BCBG(similarish here ), necklace / slides - H&M , watch- Wenger Orange can be a tricky color to pull off, especially for us pale gals, but once you've find the right shade for you it can quickly become a go-to color in your outfitting. For instance, this orange blazer that I've had  for years, is one of my favorite pieces to add some eye-popping color to a variety of lookst. AND, it was the perfect topper to this striped dress. I kept the color story going with the slingbacks and kept the jewelry simple.

Fox Socks!

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt-BCBG(similar here ), pants- Uniqlo , loafers- G. H. Bass , necklaces-H&M(similar here ), fox socks-Target(similar here ) A classic fall outfit that errs on the side of androgyny, with a whimsical twist! Once again I'm sporting another pair of the ankle, pull-on pants from Uniqlo . What can I say they serve me well, other pairs seen here , here , and here . I let the checkerboard print of the trousers dictate the rest of this look, hence the red/orange colorblock blouse and standard navy blazer. I brought in some fun with these amazing fox socks. Fox prints are the perfect novelty print for the fall, plus being gender friendly man, woman, boy, and girl can outfit with them.

I Like Striped Shirts & I Cannot Lie!

shirts from Gap , J.Crew , Old Navy , Style Mint , BCBG , Calvin Kline That's 18 striped shirts! I think "like" may be an understatement, more like "obsessed" and these are just the tee-shirts. I have even more striped sweaters and button-downs. I'm wearing a striped shirt as I type this! Stripes are always fun for spring and can bring a breath of fresh are into an outfit. And I love that they are so easy to mix n' match with other patterns, like plaid, floral, and polka-dots.  What's your clothing obsession? Let me know in the comments below.
