Outfits Not Just Clothes

Spring has sprung and while the temps have been up and down, I've been busting out all sorts of springtime prints, like the mix of vibrant florals and stripes in this blouse. I got this from a personal shopping appointment at my local Nordstrom . You may recall those dressing room selfies from this Instagram post .   Love the drama of this full sleeve and drape from the half-tuck.  Not just a mix of floral and stripe, but different stripes and flower prints patchworked in one garment.  coat-J.Crew(similar here ), turtleneck shell- Gap , blouse-Nordstrom(more options here ), trousers-Banana Republic(more options here ), belt- Amazon , boots- Nine West While the blouse is quite the statement piece of this outfit, these purple pants are nothing to slouch at. Wider-leg silhouettes have been on trend for several years/seasons. I still deeply 💓 a cropped trouser, but a longer-fuller, yet still tailored pant can take a stroll down my style alley, as seen here last fall ....

 My dear lovely husband for the month of my birth has gotten us two tickets to see Stevie Nicks when she rolls into town here this September!! As any time when plans are made the next question is what will I wear?  Since it's my birthday and it's Stevie I'm thinking I may have to Rent the Runway for the concert. 1.  Adam Lippes Collective This floral number has been on my wish list with Rent the Runway for awhile. Not for any particular occasion, but just as an option come what may. I like the higher neck and the summery feel it has, it's for sure giving me Silver Springs vibes, but is it witchy enough?  2. Maje This midi has side cutouts, sheer sleeves, a half-skirt, and definitely has a dark romance vibe more up the Stevie Nicks alley.  I think also, since the concert is in September the cutouts and lighter fabric would work better in the still summer weather. But I'm not feeling a particular song with this pick, but I think it's an overall solid contender....

 A couple of Saturdays ago took the kiddos out and about in Lawrenceville to check out Market House , Fancypants Popcorn , and Millies Ice Cream . It was a really gorgeous day and what better reason is there then to throw on a jumpsuit?! As if I need a reason... Bean , mask/chain-- MaskC , sunnies-- Ralph Lauren Giving weekend mom a boho twist in this jumpsuit-bralette pairing. One thing I'm not loving is the lack of pockets in this one-piece, however this plaid tunic does have pockets, last seen  here . I'm a big fan of jumpsuits and rompers, especially when summer hits. Last year I even fooled around with an "exercise" dress here . I know people can be down on one-pieces with the whole "How do you go to the bathroom" of it all, but for me it's not a problem.  This outfit is not my normal aesthetic, but one I have fun deploying on occasion. Speaking of handmade jewelry, this necklace was a gift from dear friend that she picked up on her trip to Tanzania. It's from an organization called Shanga which is " a social enterprise, which employs people with disabilities to create unique and high-quality handmade jewelry, glassware and homewares incorporating recycled materials." And now some Lily Tomlin a Frankie pics from Grace & Frankie  which inspired this look, along with my middle-school art teacher!
