Tux Style

coat-J.Crew(similar here ), blouse-Forever 21(more options here ), pants- Ines De La Fressange for Uniqlo (a less formal version here ), gloves-Neiman Marcus (more options here ), loafers-Nine West(similar here ) I love how the ties on this blouse, when left loose, mimic an undone bow tie for a whole after-hours tuxedo moment. These trousers, are in fact a tux-style pant from a collection by Ines de la Fressange for Uniqlo  from a number of years back. Other great features of this shirt are the polka dots and pleats. Note the pleated front AND pleats on the sleeves. This blouse is quite romantic when you take in the sheer fabric and dramatic sleeve, when paired with the menswear-inspired trousers and straight overcoat you get an interesting mix of feminine and androgynous style. The studded gloves throw an edgy vibe into the mix, for a surprisingly dynamic look!

Tee Shirt & Skirt Outfit

tee-J.Crew(similar here ), skirt-Banana Republic(similar here ), sneakers-Old Navy(similar here ), jewelry- Cookie Lee , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), bag-Thrifted This outfit was inspired by a recent online piece from Lucky Magazine " 13 Slip On Sneaker Looks to Copy ASAP ". There isn't so much a particular look that I've copied here, but the slide show gave me new ways of looking at these polka-dotted slip-ons. I went with a somewhat dressy skirt and matched it's background hue with a slouchy tee, then finished off with delicate-ish jewelry, that's not too precious. Of course my trusted neutral thrifted bag is a weekend staple and works right in with the muted tones of the overall look.

Hamptons-Poolside-Chic meets Sue Ellen Ewing Early '80's Realness

Okay, this post title is ridiculous I know, BUT come on, it's accurate am I right? blouse- JOA via Le Tote , necklace/bracelet- Le Tote , trousers- Zara , belt-J.Crew,(similar here ) wedges- Sole Society These pleated drapey pants scream early 80's glamour. Paired with this sailor-suit-esque blouse I was definitely ready for a seaside cocktail party, right? This outfit also called to mind the elegance of early 80's  Dallas .  It has been my experience that as a child of the 80's one's house was either in the Dallas camp or the Dynasty camp. We were a Dallas household for sures. So, one of my earliest style influences was Sue Ellen Ewing . Despite the pills, the booze, the philandering husband, and lost potential of a life on her own terms Miss Sue Ellen kept it quite fierce especially in the early years of the show.  Here she is serving up sternum-baring chic!  I tried to watch the reboot of the series on TNT, but I just couldn...

Drapey Pants & Plaid

jacket/shirt/pants-J.Crew(similar here , here , & here ), booties-Forever 21(sort of similar here ), necklace- Le Tote , bracelet/rings- Jewel Mint This look has some of my favorite style elements--drapey pants, plaid, statement necklace, denim jacket, and blue-green color combo. And in these pics Mr. Keller was able to capture a No Parking sign which he loves, so everybody was happy!
