Animals Always on Trend

sweater-Asos(similar here ), pants/shirt-Zara(similar here and here ), necklace-Banana Republic(more options here ), boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom I've had this tiger-face sweater for years, as seen here , here , and here . At the time (2012ish) I picked up this jumper, Givenchy was all about bold fierce tiger fronts for their Menswear collection. Half a decade + later, Gucci was(and still is) hocking tiger prints brand-wide. Now, Stella McCartney's Pre-Fall collection features a lion(aka the tiger's country cousin) sweater!!! Which just goes to show that trends/fashion is cyclical in nature and statement pieces are worth holding onto because they do come back around!  Beyond my high-fashion trend sense, this OOTD is functional, work-appropriate, androgyny, and easy to wear!

Back on the Tiger

sweater-Asos(similar here ), skirt-Ann Taylor(similar here ), shirt-Uniqlo(more options here ), necklace-Anthropologie(similarish here ), mary janes-Nine West(similar here ) Wrapping up this workweek with a Tiger!!! 🐯ROAR! You may recall this sweater from some of these old posts, here , here , and here . Back then I was playing off the graphic animal sweatshirt vibe from Givenchy . Now, I'm channeling the whimsical prints of Gucci . Which goes to show, that there are certain statement pieces (like a tiger face sweater) that you should definitely keep in your closet, because who knows when they'll be relevant again!

Polka Dots, Stripes, & Argyle Outfit

This necklace reminds me of the shark-tooth statement necklace from Givenchy. What do you think?   Granted this is much more fierce, and just much MORE in general, but I feel there's an aesthetic similarity. Gosh, I'm tired...   cardigan/blouse-Jcrew(similar here and sort of here ), skirt-Banana Republic(a fun alternative here ), belt-Urban Outfitters(sort of similar here ), bag-H&M(similar here ) necklace- Mikkat Market , sunnies- Ralph Lauern , heels-DSW(sort of similar here )     Back to office after the holiday weekend and I've taken the mixing of patterns from Friday night's look into the work day.  Stripes, polka dots, and argyle added to the mix. The colors are all similar and the silhouette is pretty conservative so all of these patterns together doesn't come across as overwhelming, or at least I don't think it does...

Bridal Shower Outfit

So there are several weddings we're attending this year and the first wave of bridal shower invites has hit!  I'm thinking of doing something a little funky and mixing stripes with florals.  Accessorizing with a bright clutch and statement necklace. I have to admit I'm not a bridal/baby shower fan.  There's something odd about sitting around watching some one open presents.  And of course people's parents are there and it might not be the best time to talk about how you got wasted with their daughter in college, but there's really nothing else you CAN talk about because you don't really know them and all you have in common is knowing their daughter and whenever I'm in an awkward social situation I always think of the most inappropriate thing to say and can't seem to stop myself.   So... I should at least have a cute outfit right? Bridal Shower Outfit by bernadetteulsamer featuring a floral skirt
