A Spring River Visit

Living in Pittsburgh, rivers come into play in various aspects of city life. We cross over them everyday, they and their bridges are considered when deciding on how to get where, and they also provide recreation whilst be stunning backgrounds for outfit pics!  jacket-Mikkat Market(similar here ), shirt-Old Navy(similarish here ), trousers- J.Crew Factory , sunnies-Versace(similar here ), scarf-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), belt-Gap(more options here ), ring / bracelet -Ana Luisa, bookbag-DSW(more options here ), boots--Land's End(similar here ) This spring look takes inspiration from a more autumnal preppy vibe. A button-down, cropped pant, and "blazer" has been one of my go-to outfit formulas for almost two decades.  And while it feels mostly grounded in fall looks, it actually works no matter the season if you have the right pieces.  And of course the Monongahela River in the background makes for a standout backdrop to these shots.  This of course is not the first t...

Sunday Style

This past Sunday we took a little trip down to the Waterfront to check out the labyrinth and I took the opportunity to tryout this look. I've been recently experimenting with clip-on earrings, as my piercings from childhood have long ago grown closed.  I've paired these earrings with this necklace in prior outfits, added them to this look taking ...

I've been seeing oversized blazers, wide-leg trousers, sneakers all over the place for a minute now. And when I say "all over" I mean online, obviously. And I find myself embracing these trends because I have so many pieces that fit with this mishmash of business formal, casual, and sporty style blazer/trousers-J.Crew(more options here and here ), tee-Cotton Factory(find something similar from Commonwealth Press ), earrings-Jewel Mint(similar here via Poshmark ), rings- Mejuri , sneakers-H&M(similar here ) The three main pieces of this OOTD are almost vintage, having been purchased over a decade ago in the aughts when I was first starting work in an office and decided I needed to dress formally in trousers and blazers everyday. The whole "dress for the job you want, not the job you have" idea being popular at the time.  Now, the job I have is working from home, so no on cares what you wear!  But, this outfit showcases how trends are cyclical. The wide-leg...
