Tone-on-Tone Leather

It's a new year, a new month, a new season, but the same coat as seen my last two posts, here and here . I'm usually pretty dormant between Christmas and the end of January as the weather can be untenable, but here lately we've had a warmish streak. So here's the first outfit of 2026! hat--??? but here's something similar from Wooly Bear Knits ,  coat--Nordstrom(similar here ), dress--Anthropologie(similar here ), turtleneck-- Cuddl Duds , loafers--Madewell(similar here ), necklace--Banana Republic(similar here ) I've worn and posted this almost exact look about two years ago here . In fact this outfit was my first posting of the new 2024 year, I guess I'm becoming predictable, but in my last post I was questioning my style mojo, so returning to a look I know works and makes feel like I'm wearing an outfit, not just clothes can be kind of grounding, a reset of sorts.

At Long Last Leather Dress

Finally a new outfit post of the new year and it only took about eight weeks! I've been finding myself leaning toward monochromatic looks here as 2024 rolls out. Monochromatic can be quite versatile. The easiest form is head-to-toe one color, whether that be something bold like tomato red, or something minimal like grey or all-black. The monochromatic approach I took to this outfit is tone-on-tone, where each element is hanging off a branch from the same color family tree.  dress- Anthropoloige (more here ), coat-Nordstrom(similar here ), turtleneck--H&M(similar here ), loafers- Madewell , bag- Zac Posen (exact version available here via Poshmark ), sunnies- Diff Eyewear , mask- MASKC , earrrings- Amazon We have chocolatey brown, purple, pink, and aubergine, or if you will oxblood, which is a trending shade at the moment. I love the lean silhouette with the coat and dress hitting at the same hem length. I went with a pop of color handbag and mask that played on the color...

Phoenix Boutique

Went on an impromptu shopping trip a few Saturdays a go and took some dressing-room selfies. You may recall my post about  Pavement . From there I stepped over to  Phoenix Boutique  a high end consignment store in Lawrenceville.  This top still had the tags, from C/MEO Collective (more options here and the same top over at Poshmark ) original price--$150(!) so a huge deal at $30. I didn't get the skirt because I have similar skirts and I don't wear a ton of skirts. This top will probably become a regular player with the upcoming warmer weather. As you can see I kept my hiking sweat pants and sneakers on for these try-ons because I'm classy like that!  Anthropologie (similar here , here , and here ) Played around with layering this sheer turtleneck under a cropped, boxy top, not really feeling it. This tweedy, fringed piece stayed at the store.  Look at her in leather! Bit of a struggle to get this off, she also stayed at the store. Another NWT item fr...

Overall Spring

I love a good jumpsuit! And it's definitely worth the work to find the style that best fits. I've purchased (and worn) some real clunkers throughout the years, but I think I've hit the sartorial nail on the head with this chambray number! coat-H&M(similar here ), shirt-Uniqlo(similar here ), jumpsuit-Banana Republic(more options here ), boots-L.L. Bean(similar here ), bag-J.Jill(similar here ), jewelry- Mejuri This jumpsuit gives off an overalls vibe, and I've always featured with a layer underneath ( here  and here ). On this grey rainy day I leaned into the overall feeling yet again, layering a patchwork-inspired button-down underneath and donned rugged ankle boots.  Topped things off with a long plaid coat and leather crossbody bag to add a preppy/collegiate twist to an otherwise county, somewhat cabincore style outfit.
