Bump with Stripes

cardigan-J. W. Anderson for Uniqlo(more cardis here ), "tunic"-Style Mint(similar here from Everlane ). pants- Gap Maternity , boots-H&M(similar here ) So I just found out about  National Stripe Appreciation Day coming up here on Saturday, the 31st! 😀 Which is something as a stripe aficionado I can really get behind, even if it IS just a made-up day to promote the New Spring Arrivals at J.Crew . Of course, stripes are for every season and go great with other prints like the Fair Isle neckline on this sweater. And while this striped top used to be a T-shirt dress, it now serves as a tunic for my growing baby bump, much like the mini-dress from this post . There are quite a few challenges to endure while pregnant (I'll spare you the gory details) but one that I actually enjoy is re-calibrating my style and finding new ways to wear pieces, like this T-shirt dress, that is now a tunic, until further notice.  There you have it folks, stripes...

CARINE ROITFELD X UNIQLO

I've been a big fan of designer collections for chain store retailers for years. Target , and H&M , being at the forefront of this phenomena for quite some time now.  More recently I've started looking towards Uniqlo's unique "designer" partnerships. I type "designer" with quotes because these collaborations have not been with the standard designer brands, but instead with fashionable individuals who are more like icons than straight-up designers who have a business manufacturing clothes. Case in point, the latest offering from Uniqlo by Carine Roitfeld ! Faux Fur Coat Pointail Sweater Silk Stole Tights Wool Blend pants True this is mostly a grey, black, navy, & brown collection, which some may argue is a bit dreary, however I think it's an ideal mix of quality basics for the upcoming winter. Plus the textures on each piece make them standout and anything but boring. For more info on Uniqlo's presence here ...

Adam Lippes for Target Purchases

Last month I posted about the upcoming Adam Lippes for Target collab here . Well Sunday, the 27th was the big day and here's what I picked up! Pencils with Case Mini-Journals Throw Blanket The journals and pencil case will make some great stocking stuffers for Christmas, and I just love the idea of a buffalo plaid blanket for winter. I can see this getting a lot of use during TV time. I ordered all of the above online, but then found myself at Target later in the day running rando errands. I did check out the fashions on display and to be honest, my skirt was NOT blown up... True I was wearing my maternity jeans, not a skirt, but you get what I'm saying. The blouses, dresses, and sweaters on offer were just okay and I didn't feel any particular garment would really add much to my current wardrobe. Or, should I say my anticipated wardrobe come January, when this baby is out and I've had some time to recover... Or, maybe I'm just more into home...

Designer Collab

It's been a bit cooler here this week in Pittsburgh and I'm thinking wonderful fall thoughts, and with those comes my cravings for new and exciting fall purchases!!! I've been a huge fan and consumer of multiple Target/Designer Collaborations over the years and next month just in time for fall Adam Lippes joins the Target family(for a limited time) with a plaid-heavy collection that I am all sorts of ready to jump on! Here are a few items that have caught my eye: Backpack \ Blouse Kitchen Towels Heels Man's Cardi Pencils & Case Sweater Vest As you can see they are not kidding around with the plaid, and there's additional items for the kids and the pets. So a very wide-ranging collection with something for everyone!  Two thoughts: I love MOST of it... there are a few pieces in the women's collection that definitely have a WTF vibe, case in point: Poncho Top, no girl, just no!  And second: I hear the beginni...

Kanye West x Adidas Originals

Say what you will about Kanye West the man certainly as a "vision" when it comes to his music and artistic ventures. The latest  of such being a designer collab with Adidas that debuted at NYC Fashion Week. all above images via Style.com This plays right into the Athleisure trend, of which I'm a fan. However, the lack of proper pants is troubling. These are basically full-body pantyhose, which don't really feel much like fashion, but more so costumes for a revival of A Chorus Line with a post-apocalyptic bent, which I would totally go see! That sounds like an awesome idea for that musical, right? But in all seriousness I don't see a big explosion of pantyhose-as-pants with sweatshirt tucked into them happening anytime soon. And this partnership was never about the dancer-wear clothes, or even the supposed inspiration of the London Riots last year, it's about the sneaker.   Runway Detail Pic This Adidas Yeezy sneaker is retailing f...
