Outfits Not Just Clothes

Is there anything better than a great fitting jumpsuit? Yes, one with pockets!!!  jumpsuit-Nordstrom Rack(similar here ), necklace-gifted(similar here ) espadrilles-Eileen Fisher(more options here ) I've been a fan of jumpsuits for quite some time, as seen here , here , and here . But despite all of the umbrage of 2020, it WAS the year that I really stepped into the most flattering and fashionable jumpsuits of my outfitting career, as seen here and here . With this open-backed baby my jumpsuit game keeps getting stronger! I was out and about recently and some one said "I love your dress" to which I replied, "it's a jumpsuit with pockets!" and then struck versions of the following pose: And FYI, I'm not wearing a bra, but I am wearing some strategic shapewear from Yummie .

This dress is an oldie, but a goldie.  A recent purchase after the birth of my 2nd child, it saw me through a summer of body flux, breastfeeding, transitioning back to work, and figuring out how to be a mother of two girls, instead of just one. dress-Target(similar here ), belt-Gap(similar here ), ring- Mejuri bag- Shiraleah , shoes- Born  I originally featured this dress once I was off maternity leave, here . Looking back at that post I can see how tired and disheartened I looked. If I'm being honest with myself, some of those same feelings of uncertainty, anxiety, and general sense of being overwhelmed definitely resurfaced during this pandemic. But now, being fully vaccinated and getting a sense of what the summer and upcoming school year will look like has renewed my spirits, and this dress is yet again seeing me through. 

It was rainy last week, which gave me the prefect excuse to bust out my new bright red rain booties! dress-Old Navy(similarish here ), Headband-Anthropologie(more options here ), necklace-Jewel Mint(available here via Poshmark ), boots- Roma As in last week's post , I'm employing a bohemian summertime vibe, with a bit of dark romance on the side in this embroidered shift dress, headband, wavy hair, and red rainboots! These waves are the result of air-drying and trying out the center part that all the kids are raving about.  And while you may not think this functional footwear aesthetically matches with a folksy frock, leaning into the bit of red in the dress, for pop-of-color boot brings the two styles together.
