A Sort of Matching Set

I love a matching set for warmer days. Don't get me wrong, a cozy loungewear set is great for curling up when it's cold out, but for being out and about in spring and summer, having a go to top and bottom to just throw on makes outfitting so much easier. I've featured various sets here , here , and here . On this day in May I took a slightly different approach.  sweater / shorts --Quince, tee-Kansas City Kitty(similar here ), sneakers-H&M(similar here ) While this sweater and pair of shorts aren't EXACT matches, the fact that they are from the same brand in the same-ish tone makes them easy pieces to match up. I featured this tee-shirt last June, here . It's a bit more cropped then I normally go for in tees, but these elastic waisted bottoms make for an easy wearing and I love how the graphic is framed when the sweater is worn over the shoulders. This makes for a handy AC trick here this spring and summer. Use the sweater as an "accessory" then pop it ...

Fall Forest

I don't often post athletic wear or what I would call errand-running or bus stop outfits, but how well these leggings and sweatshirt "matched up" earned them a posting. I did wear this look for an errands and we were able to pop out of the car quick for some shots with this on-theme backdrop. sweatshirt- Signals , leggings-- Constantly Varied Gear , bag-- Waterfly , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , ring-- Skeleton Jewelry , sneakers-Ascis(similar here )  There's a lot of teal in this look. And one could maybe argue that it's a bit matchy-matchy, however this found "matching set" needs to be recognized. The leggings pattern they are calling Aurora Borealis, and you can find similar forest and sky-themed prints here and here . While the sweatshirt is titled Misty Mountains and comes in hoodie form here . I'll take the misty mountains and night lights all season long!

More Summer Stripes

We were away for an extended family trip, but back in the 'burgh, back-to-school, back at work, and back in stripes! My last post featured similar stripes here . For this outfit I'm letting the matching set do most of the work.  a little bit of nail art for you 💗 matching set-Old Navy(similar here ), sandals-Teva(similar here ), sunnies-Versace(more options here ), earrings-Etsy Seller The Seedy Merchant , necklace- Mejuri , ring- Skeleton Jewelry Matching sets do the heavy lifting when outfitting. However, they don't lift everything, one still has to accessorize and zhuzh, which is what I've done here with the tie-front, sleeves, and jewelry.  Summer is wrapping up and fall is in the air, so looking forward to sharing autumnal outfits with you all.

Move Over Brat Green it's Olive & Sage Season

March is winding down and spring trends are ramping up. From last summer's outrageous Brat Green , which I never even attempted to incorporate into my style, this spring is seeing a resurgence of pastels and deeper tones. Here's my take on a monochromatic look with olive green and sage hues.  jacket--H&M(similar here ), shirt / pants --Uniqlo, sunnies--Versace(more options here ), necklace--Banana Republic(similarish here ), ring / bracelet -Ana Luisa, boots-Vince Camuto(similar here ) from Nordstrom This "matching set" from Uniqlo features the trending barrel pant silhouette, not my usual fit, but you can't argue with it when paired with the cropped adjustable button-down and a pair of statement boots. I may also style this look with combat boots for messier days. This oversized quilted jacket is almost over a decade old, but it's utilitarian vibe keeps it in style. I've worn it with a pop of pink in years past and it would work "playing against...
