Bralette & Overalls

Last week was a scorcher so the bralette action was still going strong underneath these linen overalls. I like an all-black look in high summer, especially for us city-dwellers, very urbane, no? Being rendered in a breathable fabric with some exposed, but not too-exposed, skin makes this a bearable, and cool outfit in the heat and humidity.  overalls- Amazon , bralette- Three Bird Nest , shoes- March Fisher , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , necklace--Cookie Lee (more options via Poshmark here ) This looks is definitely casual and a bit boho in essence especially with air-dried wavy hair. The leaf-esque necklace makes the look feel a bit special. I got this piece from my mother when she sold  Cookie Lee home-party jewelry. The company is caput now and it wasn't really my style, but there were a few pieces now and again that spoke to my aesthetic.  This week has been much more temperate, I can feel fall in the early morning air....she says before checking the forecast with highs ...

On Wednesday's We Wear Black

top- Gap , pants- Everlane , necklace/ring-Jewel Mint(similar here and here from Poshmark ), bracelet-Gifted(available here ), flats- Dr. Scholl's , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear via Box of Style So yeah, this is my hair at the moment... let's talk about this all-black, chic spring outfit! It's simple and flattering, plus this look is giving me a cool urban vibe without trying too hard. I love a slouchy blank pant, the elasticized waist on this pair makes them relaxed, but not oversized. It strikes a nice balance, when paired with a cinched knit, sleek sunglasses, and leopard flats, of ease and sophistication. I wore this for a virtual HH and some more casual Zoom work meetings, showing off the shoulders again .

Tuxedo Dress

dress- H&M (similar here from Asos ), necklace/sunnies-Gifted, loafers-Zara(similar here ) You wouldn't think a double-breasted tuxedo-esque coat dress would be all that versatile, however the collar does lend itself to a several stylings--flipped or folded as I've done both in the above shots. Since it's still summery out, I wore this on its own as a dress, but come the cooler months this frock can double as a coat/blazer hybrid, standing as a third piece to a shirt-trousers fall look. I'm also thinking this winter it'll wear well underneath a coat to act as middle layer... we shall see.  For now, it's just chic af, don't you agree?

Pineapples & Culottes

shirt/necklace-H&M(maternity version here and similar necklace here ), culottes-Mango(similar here ), flats- Dr. Scholls   You may recall this sequined pineapple top from a few summers ago in this post . Then I paired it with joggers and Vans. For this OOTD I've gone more sophisticated with culottes and leopard print flats. You may not think a novelty-print t-shirt would be very versatile, but since it's rendered in black (as opposed to white ) and the pineapples are fairly delicate in size this shirt feels more like a basic with a twist, rather than a graphic tee and lends itself to both casual and classy outfits.
