This Old Dress

cardi-Banana Republic(similar here ), dress- Le Tote , necklace-H&M(similarish here ), bracelet/ring-Jewel Mint(available here  & here  via Poshmark , loafers-Payless(similar here ) This dress isn't that old, only a few years, (last seen here ) but the pattern feels very 70's vintage and the oversized silhouette makes me feel like I could be wearing one of my Mom's  old maternity dresses... not the most glamorous of feelings, eh? So, I'm considering putting this on my yard sale pile. FYI: I'll be setting up shop for the annual Point Breeze Yard Sale here in September and pricing things to sell! So, what do we think of this dress... To sell, or not to sell? Let me know your vote in the comments.

Mountain Meets Moto

jacket-Asos(similar here ), dress-Uniqlo(similar here ), scarf- American Apparel , belt-Banana Republic Factory Store(more options here ), boots- Payless , rings-similar here from H&M I AM LOVING THIS DRESS!!!! Plaid, flannel, pockets, oversized, its hitting all of my style desires for this season. In my full-blown autumn old-timey fantasies this would be my mountain woman dress that I'd wear weaving blankets, singing folk songs while brushing my daughter's hair, and roaming the woods gathering nuts.  The red moto-jacket brings the look out of the backwoods and onto the streets of Pittsburgh, hence the title post.  Fall is such a great time, style wise to mix and match textrues, patterns, and aesthetics. So go ahead and pair flannel with leather, or lace and tweed. Have pastoral style in the same ensemble as athleisure wear, or go for a vintage and androgynous combo. Nothing is off limits!

Rainy Day Blouse & Grandpa Cardi

vest-J.Crew(similar here ), cardigan-Vintage, blouse- Anthropologie , pants-Saks off 5th(similar here ), boots-Payless(similar here ), necklace- Rebecca Minkoff via Le Tote , watch-Michael Kors(similar here ) This blouse was part of my "back to work" outfit from this post . Here, I've gone a bit more rustic with the cargo skinnies, boots, and vest. And for a casual look, there is a lot going on--we have a high & low mix with the accessories, brand name and vintage with the top layers, and then a novelty print in the blouse.  In terms of functionality this type of layering (cardigan under an outerwear vest) is perfect for the volatility of spring weather. Having options is key when outfitting around the day's temperature progression.  And on a final note, this sweater is truly a Grandpa Cardigan, as it was my grandpa's, AND it was a part of his mail-carrier uniform!!! Yeah, this is a 90's thrift store dream, and a n...

One Great Dress!

If you look close, you can see the tiny hearts in the scarf!  coat- Columbia Sportwear , dress-Anthropologie(similar here ), belt-Gap(more belts here ), necklace-Bauble Bar(similar here ), boots-Payless(similar here ), scarf-Gifted This dress is AH-MAZING, not only did I wear it during my last trimester, seen here . It also made the rounds pre-pregnancy here . And it's still going strong post-baby. The reason this one dress fits all three of my recent body types is because of the knit construction and high-waist silhouette. That higher waist is why I go with a belt in my styling, but it's not required. Also it's a perfect fall/winter work dress what with the longer sleeves and thicker fabric, and of course POCKETS! And unlike some other sweater/knit dresses out there, this has visual interest with the stripes and deep colors.  So yeah, I can't see ANYTHING I would change in this look, except maybe my hair. It's kind of all over the pl...

Green & Blue Story Continues

Hot, hot, hot! You can see the sweat. cardi/ cropped trousers -Jcrew(kind of similar here ) , blouse- H&M , necklace(similar here )-BR, shoes- Isabel Toledo for Payless(more options here )  Taking the blue & green theme from the weekend as seen in yesterday's post , to the weekday.  The green of these cropped trousers doesn't exactly match the cardi, but close enough. And the blue helps break it up. Because it was so hot I wore this sleeveless blouse, last seen here , and added a simple gold necklace to compliment the collar. Also, I need to give a shout out to the shoes. Every time I wear them I get compliments and not just from people I know.  Strangers on the street really enjoy them as well.  Sometimes (well let's be real) most times shoes can make an outfit.
