Outfits Not Just Clothes

Longtime readers may recall previous posts profiling local Pittsburgh boutiques Mid-Atlantic Mercantile and Pavement . Over the Christmas weekend I discovered another interesting/independent store Kansas City Kitty . And they have their own matchbooks! tunic sweater- Promesa , socks--??? Here's the catch, this awesome, conscientious, and super-cute store is located in Fort Collins, Colorado... So, if you're a Coloradian..? Coloradoer...? Caoloradite...? reader then take a halfsie and a road trip to the FC (I'm sure they don't call it that, but I do!) and check out Kansas City Kitty. If you ever find yourself near the FC, make some room in your itinerary and stop by for a quick visit at their Old Town location.

Last week I profiled a local boutique Pavement for The Union Hall Times , which you can read here !  As you can see from these pics, this is a great little store in Lawrenceville, at 3629 Butler St. AND the owner, Alissa is super nice and very committed to providing unique and cool clothing to creative ladies. This is definitely on my return visit list for when my year of no shopping is over. I need to get up on some of their Italian-leather shoes. I've been writing for the Union Hall Times these past few months and have been lucky to discover new locally-owned shops around Pittsburgh. Lucky, in that I've been meeting some amazing owners and learning more about the city, but not so lucky in that I'm at a full 6 months (yay!!!) into my Year of No Shopping and these store visits can be quite tempting. Last month I did a piece on Mid-Atlantic Mercantile and here are a few pics! These aren't the greatest shots. I was solo with the camera that day, but as you can see Mid-Atlantic has both menswear and womenswear, accessories, and a nice little coffee cart in the shop on Saturdays!  Mid-Atlantic focuses on independent designers and heritage brands. I'm definitely putting it on my must list for when the shopping fast ends in August. But that doesn't mean you can't check them out at 4415 Butler St. in Lawrenceville.
