A Spring River Visit

Living in Pittsburgh, rivers come into play in various aspects of city life. We cross over them everyday, they and their bridges are considered when deciding on how to get where, and they also provide recreation whilst be stunning backgrounds for outfit pics!  jacket-Mikkat Market(similar here ), shirt-Old Navy(similarish here ), trousers- J.Crew Factory , sunnies-Versace(similar here ), scarf-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), belt-Gap(more options here ), ring / bracelet -Ana Luisa, bookbag-DSW(more options here ), boots--Land's End(similar here ) This spring look takes inspiration from a more autumnal preppy vibe. A button-down, cropped pant, and "blazer" has been one of my go-to outfit formulas for almost two decades.  And while it feels mostly grounded in fall looks, it actually works no matter the season if you have the right pieces.  And of course the Monongahela River in the background makes for a standout backdrop to these shots.  This of course is not the first t...

One Last Autumn Outfit

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt-Old Navy(more patterned shirts here ), culottes-Uniqlo(similar from Mango here ), belt-Gap(more belts here ), boots-L.L. Bean(similar here )  Can you feel the autumnal-realness just oozing out of these shots? If not, too bad because this is my last official Fall Outfit for the season. It's December now, but I couldn't help but post this OOTD what with the fox-printed button-down, this tweedy houndstooth blazer, and wool culottes, plus the rugged boots! The blazer was last seen here  similarly styled, but leaned in more on the androgyny note with the vintage menswear vest. Both looks are not only fall-realness, but British-countryside-realness, with a nod to the very English tradition of fox hunting with the print of the shirt. Speaking of foxes, while I wasn't able to link to a similar pattern shirt from Old Navy, I did find this piece  from a newly discovered site Rock Flower Paper  ...

Holiday Dressing--Sweaters

Fair Isle and Foxes! 🦊 cardigan-J.W. Anderson for Uniqlo(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), shirt-Old Navy(similar here ), boots-Zara(similar here )  In holidays past, my sweater game leaned toward the ironic/ugly, as seen in this post from last year . I've pivoted with this cardigan from Uniqlo, which definitely has a festive feel, but isn't overtly "holiday" and should have many more wears this coming winter.  I ran with the colors from the fair isle neckline in picking these window-pane trousers and fox-print shirt.  I will say this sweater would probably come off a bit more flattering unbuttoned with a half-tucked shirt, but I REALLY like the "geek chic" effect of being all buttoned up!   For more Holiday Dressing "ideas" check out these posts here and here .

Mommy & Me Foxes

Baby's t-shirt with one large fox vs, pinstriped shirt with mini-foxes!  Mommy: vest-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt- Old Navy , joggers/thermal(similar here )- Gap , boots-Landsend(similar here ), necklace-Bauble Bar(similar here ) Baby: t-shirt / sweats / jacket -Carters, sneakers-New Balance(similar here ) It is getting more challenging to do #twining #OOTD posts with my daughter as she just wants to run, squat, jump, anything but pose for pics! This past Sunday we put on our respective fox shirts and navy sweats to explore the Frick Environmental Center As in this post , we're coordinated more so than matching, and while the foxes are the most obvious link, the navy bottoms and layered thermals also call to each other in these paired outfits!   Now it's time for kisses!
