Outfits Not Just Clothes

sweater coat- Sanctuary via Le Tote , pants- Philosophy via Le Tote , tee-Urban Outfitters(similar here ), loafers- Isaac Mizrahi , necklace/bracelet- Jewel Mint , leggings- Old Navy Two weeks ago I was all classy ladylike in black and white here . And this past weekend I went for a casual look. I don't need to tell you how versatile black and white can be, I mean like duh, you can wear it so many ways. You may recall this tee from this post , and this sweater coat from this post . And even though we had another warm and lovely spurt, I did layer some black leggings under these slouchey pants for a bit of extra warmth, it wasn't THAT nice out.

blazer-The Limited(similar here ), blouse- Sanctuary via Le Tote , cargoes-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), heels- Shoe Mint , bracelet- Adia Kibur via Le Tote , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here )  This camo shirt from Le Tote tends toward the casual side, as do these cargoes, but I blazed it up and smacked on some heels for a no-meetings day at work. With the delicate necklace and bracelet this makes for a fairly chic, yet functional, back-at-the-office-after-a-3-day-holiday-weekend Monday outfit. This blazer is a bit oversized, and maybe a more fitted version would look more polished, but I like how it plays off the cropped cargoes for a balanced silhouette. 

This pendant coordinates with the blouse perfectly! This is also the first piece of jewelry Mr, Keller every bought be, I love that it's both classic and a bit bohemian.  cardigan-H&M(similar here ), blouse- Sanctuary via Le Tote , pants- J.Crew , necklace-Gifted, ring- French Connection via Le Tote , loafers- Zara I'm a huge fan of mixing prints, and it's pretty much di rigueur for us style-maven bloggers. I kid, but really you can tell a skillful outfitter by her, or his print-mixing ability. These pinstripes being A. a classic pattern, and B. in neutralish shades act as a base, while the top, with the busier print takes the lead. It helps that the shirt is the same color-saturation level as the pants, so as not to appear to jarring with the prints against each other. blazer-Forever 21(similar here ), top- Sanctuary Clothing via Le Tote (similar here ), trousers-J.Crew(similar here ), necklace-Noir Luxe via Le Tote , rings- Jewel Mint , heels-Saks off Fifth(similar here ), sunnies- ViVI Technically, this isn't a suit as the blazer and trousers are from two different stores, but it acts like a modern alternative to the standard neutral, flared-leg, one-button blazer situation that many professional women default to: There's nothing wrong with this, it gets the job done, but it's kind of boring, right? Sure, on the model it comes off as crisp and bold, which is accomplished through photoshop and pinning any extra fabric, but IRL on a real woman this has the tendency to come off as ho-hum. And, while flared jeans are having a resurgence this season flared/boot-cut suit trousers read as early 00's. Not that I want to shame suit-wearing ladies, but I think it might be time to explore other silhou...
