Outfits Not Just Clothes

What can I say friends? It's summer, it's hot, it's sticky, I'm probably spending too much time in the sun and outfitting can be exhausting, especially when hitting up the river trail, a brewery, and then Target--typical Saturday agenda here lately. Here are some more simple separates that are doing the work. 👷  Now for a bag switch! Actions shots ahead.... tank- T-Shirt Wholesaler , shorts- Levi's , hat- Gap , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , necklace- Mejuri , bag- Everlane , sandals-Target(more options here ) Again, is this a LOOK 👀to turn heads? No, it's a tank top and jorts. But the jewelry, hat, bag, and sunglasses elevate these separates if not into an outfit per se, at least into a summer fun vibe uniform. 

 Spring isn't just about florals and pastels, or dresses and sandals. It's also about layers and mixing materials, and graphic and fresh color combinations. jacket- Nordstrom , shirt-Gap(similar here ), jeans-Banana Republic(similar here ), necklace-Benevolence LA(similar here ), ring- Mejuri , sneakers-H&M(similar here ), sunglasses-Rachel Zoe(similar here ) My love of springtime leather(as seen here  and  here ) is still going strong in this OOTD! For this go round I'm mixing materials with these denim trousers, and going for a graphic color combo with black, white, and blue. I love the contrasts in this overall look.  What can I say I'm a contrasts queen. You have the aforementioned leather and denim.  Then the preppy button-down(that's actually a men's shirt) with the badass leather jacket and sporty sneakers. Finally, these jeans are a contrast in themselves, with a trouser cut being rendered in denim, a play on a workwear silhouette in a casual fabric....

This OOTD is all about layers?  First a base of a turtleneck and tights, then a mid layer of tweedy shorts and a chambray shirt. Then topping it off with this plaid coat, boots, and necklace. I love necklaces worn over turtlenecks, it's the perfect backdrop to highlight a statement piece, or make a fairly simple chain feel more special. Bean(similar here ) This horrendous summer sent me in search of a linen throw-on-and-go dress, and I discovered a Lithuanian based shop on Etsy and picked up this pocketed, pink shift. When it finally arrived, I was pleasantly surprised that a matching mask was included in the package! Transitioning this "matching set" from summer to fall, I added this chambray shirt and cinched with a braided belt. I unearthed these argyle socks and was so pleased the pinks coordinate and peak out just enough from my standard brown boots.   And now a couple of  closeup shots of my "included-with-purchase" mask.
