Outfits Not Just Clothes

 I love a good jumpsuit! And it's definitely worth the work to find the style that best fits. I've purchased (and worn) some real clunkers throughout the years, but I think I've hit the sartorial nail on the head with this chambray number! coat-H&M(similar here ), shirt-Uniqlo(similar here ), jumpsuit-Banana Republic(more options here ), boots-L.L. Bean(similar here ), bag-J.Jill(similar here ), jewelry- Mejuri This jumpsuit gives off an overalls vibe, and I've always featured with a layer underneath ( here  and here ). On this grey rainy day I leaned into the overall feeling yet again, layering a patchwork-inspired button-down underneath and donned rugged ankle boots.  Topped things off with a long plaid coat and leather crossbody bag to add a preppy/collegiate twist to an otherwise county, somewhat cabincore style outfit.

I think they are just so perfect for winter! shirt /belt/scarf-Gap(more belts here  similar scarf here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), necklace / ring -Mejuri, bag-J.Jill(similar here ), socks-Target(more options here ), boots- Columbia Sportswear I went with a rugged-chic style for this OOTD, pairing these high-waisted tweedy culottes with a bright red henley, plaid scarf, stripey wool socks, and hiking boots. I'm wearing this scarf almost like a shawl/poncho and using this crossbody bag to create alternative silhouettes. As stated above, these pants are quite versatile. From Tuesday's sporty  post  to a layered look from a dress-over-pants post  a few years back, these navy trousers suit a wide arrange of outfits and are quite warm to boot!

Bean(similar here ) Last week I extolled the benefits of a wrap-dress this holiday season. For more casual, yet still festive garb, I'm a big fan of red corduroy. Red denim also works, but I like the added texture cords bring to this look. Plus they feel more rugged, which pairs well with this outdoorsy vest and camo shirt. Of course, you always have to a deft hand when it comes to deploying camo-prints. I tend to error on the side of subtle and try to use them in layered looks so as not to overpower the overall outfit with this tricky pattern.

There's only one piece of actual menswear--this 70's vintage vest (that is reversible!!!!) I "borrowed" from my Dad 20-odd years ago. The shirt and blazer are classic autumn staples, and when paired with simple cropped pants, rugged boots, and a designer scarf, not only does this look have an androgynous feel, but it's also giving off some major English Country Side--it's not too late to catch that Downton Abbey movie, eh?
