All Dressed Up and No Where to Go

dress- Iconic Luxe  via Amazon, belt- Syhood also on Amazon necklace--H&M(similarish here ) sunnies-- DIFF , bracelet- BaYou With Love , bag- Shiraleah , wedges-Sole Society(similar here ) The accessories really make this knit casual dress into an outfit. The bag, bracelet, and sunglasses were part of my Mother's Day gift from my husband--the  Rachel Zoe's Spring Box of Style . While the belt, which I also got in black, came from a random Amazon purchase, and the wedges and necklace I've had for a minute.  And while this dress is meant to be a "throw-on-and-go" easy piece, the vibrant color really lends itself to being zhuzhed up, even if it's just for a driving around taking outfit pics.

Amazon Shops

My relationship with Amazon first began as a great resource for cheap used books, then became my  go-to for drugstore items, then Christmas Shopping. Recently, I've been finding myself searchingh for fashion... or at least clothing that suits my needs. Which lead to me my two favorite shops right now  Mordernmiss & Iconic Luxe You may recall my striped and pocketed Iconic Luxe dress from this post . Here are a few more knit frocks I have an eye on: Embroidered Bib Dress Cotton Shirt Dress Knit Smock Dress Striped Midi Fit n' Flare This last one is basically the same dress I already have, but in grey. 😀 What can I say, I like what I like.  Overall, as you can see they offer basic easy-to-wear dresses with pockets that are a great starting point for an outfit, or just something to throw on before heading to the store! For casual clothes with a bit of a boho, Japanese-inspired twist, like the top from this post ,  Mordenmiss has some ...

Mom Dress for Fall

cardi-J.Crew(similar here ), dress- Iconic Luxe via Amazon , boots-Gap(suede version here ), scarf-Vintage(similarish here from Poshmark )  I first featured this dress back in June on a twinning post with my daughter here .  Now that October has started I've styled my perfect Mom dress for autumn with this oversized cardi, vintage scarf, and chelsea boots!  There are numerous "guides" on how to transition summer frocks for fall wear (as seen here , here , and here ) that usually involve layering and switching out sandals for boots, which is solid advice. My go-to in transitional dressing strategic not only consists of wearing warm-weather garb with sweaters and tights, but also wearing pieces that speak to the change in season through fabric, pattern, and silhouette as seen here , here , and here .

Mommy & Me

Does anyone else remember The Harts? Which I believe is the name of the paper doll family where the mother and daughter dressed alike... I couldn't find any Google Images or references after 5 minutes of copious searching, but trust it was a thing that existed because I distinctly remember playing with the whole paper doll family. My point being, the concept of mommy & daughter matching outfits has been on my style radar for quite some time... Of course these dresses are not exact replicas of each other. Baby girl's striped number comes from Old Navy, while my frock is from Iconic Luxe via Amazon. But both are blue and white, with horizontal stripes in the yoke/bodice, and vertical stripes in the skirt.  Here are some additional shots with a different background...  From both a functional and style perspective this is an almost perfect "Mom" dress. It fits, flatters, and covers as I bend, squat, and interact with baby girl: ...
