Party Party Party

Of course there are no parties and the dumpster fire that was 2020 is still raging here in 2021, but at least we have hallway mirror selfies... Another outfit that I COULD have worn for a killer night on the town! Now that's a wedge!  blazer-Luciano Barbera(similar here via TheRealReal ) shirt-Anthropologie(similar here ), jeans-Asos(similar here ), wedges-Shoe Mint(similar here and here via Poshmark ), necklaces-Pavement(similarish here ) & Merjui The top half of this OOTD is a mix of business and Boho, while the bottom half is all rock n' roll. It can be hard to pull off such disparate aesthetics in one look, and there are so few occasions (even in the before times) where this outfit would have been appropriate, I'm obvie not wearing this to the office or playdates. But for going out, whether real or fantasized, the similar color palette amongst all of the pieces, the way the prints mirror each other, and general attitude of the look make for a reasonably eclectic...

Holla Back to Safari Chic

vest-Banana Republic(similarish here ), dress-Need Supply(similar here ), belt-Gap(similar here ), necklace-Le Tote(similar here ), heels-Shoe Mint(similar here ) Remember when " Safari Chic " was THE summer trend back in 2008... Well, some trends ironically never go out of style. I've certainly been a fan of this aesthetic for several years, check past posts here . In this 2017 iteration I've used this little white dress as clean palette to showcase safari-esque add-ons for a chic outfit to take on the urban jungle.

Tuxedo Dress

dress-H&M(similar here ), pants-Zara(similar here ), necklace-Need Supply(similar here ), flats-Shoe Mint(similar from Zara here ) This outfit, while seemingly simple(black top, grey bottoms, flats) is a bit avant-garde for a Tuesday at work, no? Thanks to this "tuxedo" dress with it's lapels, buttons, and pockets this dress-over-pants switches things up from your standard LBD. The inspiration for this look came from a Refinery29 article on fashionable kids. Meet Rin and her mom Rica-- While Rin's look is very cute, and right up my striped alley, it was her mom's outfit that inspired me. Going for an easy, loose silhouette with some architectural detail was how I approached turning this inspo photo into real life outfitting. Oh, but hey, just noticed that I AM sporting stripes on my black and white flats. So, this is actually a nice little combo inspo! Check out more of Rin's style here !

White Blazer = Fresh Outfit

Actually wearing this necklace "backwards" the flip side is multi-colored faux gemstones.  blazer- J.Crew , shirt-Uniqlo(similar here ), pants-Zara(similar here ), tee- American Apparel , boots-Shoe Mint(similar here from ModCloth ), necklace- Le Tote , watch-Wenger(similar here ) A white, as opposed to black blazer brings a sense of freshness to this midwinter camo shirt and tweedy trouser combo. Also loving the mix of casual and professional pieces, as well as classic and trendy. So many subtle elements working in  this outfit, don't you agree? 😊 In other news, American Apparel is going out of business ! So now is the time stock up on tees, hoodies, and some inappropriate mesh bodysuits!

Varsity Level Outfitting

sweater- Le Tote , trousers-Zara(similar here ), tee- Gap , scarf-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), boots-Shoe Mint(similar from Zara here ) necklace- chloe + isabel , watch-Michael Kors(similar here ) This "varsity" sweater on loan from Le Tote perfectly matched up with these athleisure trousers from Zara  for a preppy, androgynous chic outfit! The checkered infinity scarf kept the black and ivory color theme going, and combat-style boots gave the overall look some edge. So while, this ensemble seems pretty simple, there's really a lot of wonderful style elements happening, plus is was super comfortable and flattering, if I do say so myself!
