Feeling the Fall

The feeling of fall is in the air and I'm hankering for all of the sartorial delights this season has to offer. In this post I've embraced the hotly debated, higher-rise and wider-leg of this season's  jean silhouette . I still prefer my skinnies, but am willing to embrace change. Also, I'm living for these boots! blazer(similarish here and here ), tank , jeans -Gap, sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , necklace/ring- Mejuri , 2nd necklace-- Benevolence LA , belt- Amazon , boots-Vince Camuto(similar here ) via Nordstrom This look was inspired by Awakwafina-- I immediately hone in on the blazer, belt, jean combination. Granted my belt's not Gucci , but the hardware is similar. I also I went with an ankle boot as opposed to a pump, but both have a "blockish" heel and opted for a knit striped tank versus a silky button-down.  Even with those minor adjustments the over all vibe is similar--casual, yet polished, simple, but striking.

Animals Always on Trend

sweater-Asos(similar here ), pants/shirt-Zara(similar here and here ), necklace-Banana Republic(more options here ), boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom I've had this tiger-face sweater for years, as seen here , here , and here . At the time (2012ish) I picked up this jumper, Givenchy was all about bold fierce tiger fronts for their Menswear collection. Half a decade + later, Gucci was(and still is) hocking tiger prints brand-wide. Now, Stella McCartney's Pre-Fall collection features a lion(aka the tiger's country cousin) sweater!!! Which just goes to show that trends/fashion is cyclical in nature and statement pieces are worth holding onto because they do come back around!  Beyond my high-fashion trend sense, this OOTD is functional, work-appropriate, androgyny, and easy to wear!

Back on the Tiger

sweater-Asos(similar here ), skirt-Ann Taylor(similar here ), shirt-Uniqlo(more options here ), necklace-Anthropologie(similarish here ), mary janes-Nine West(similar here ) Wrapping up this workweek with a Tiger!!! 🐯ROAR! You may recall this sweater from some of these old posts, here , here , and here . Back then I was playing off the graphic animal sweatshirt vibe from Givenchy . Now, I'm channeling the whimsical prints of Gucci . Which goes to show, that there are certain statement pieces (like a tiger face sweater) that you should definitely keep in your closet, because who knows when they'll be relevant again!

A Gucci Homage of Sorts

Another example of " All the Prints " cardi-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt-Mango(similar here ), dress-H&M(similar here ), loafers-Zara(similar here ) First, the "collar" on this dress is actually a sleeveless blouse layered underneath, which I featured in my " Discover Mango " post last summer. I love working in a collar, it can take a casual piece and make it more office-appropriate, while adding a bit of tomboy flair, as seen in yesterday's post .  Besides the collar, the silhouette of this dress and mix of prints captures the current vaguely 70's  Gucci aesthetic, as seen in this look from the Pre-Fall Collection: Gucci  A mad mix of prints and embellishments is very on-trend at the moment. The key to pulling off this look IRL, is to not overwhelm yourself with add-ons and overly quirky/cutesy elements. My outfit above is treading very close to the line of becoming costumey. If I had employed a...
