A Romantic Wintry Mix

Another flat layout for these wintry days. ❆🀩 sweater- Summer & Sage via Le Tote , skirt-Uniqlo(similar here ), necklace- chloe + isabel , flats- Dr. Scholl's This sweater is the epitome of dark winter romance with the flecked ombre effect giving me dirty snowfall realness.  I'm not too crazy about the collarbone cutouts, but you can't deny overall it pairs beautifully with this square-cut crystal necklace and black circle skirt.  And yes, before you ask, this skirt DOES have pockets! I may be a romantic, but I still want functionality.

A Bold Flat Layout

So, it's been a cold and dark (weather-wise) and insanely busy time for this stylish working mother of two. Outfit shooting is quite low on the priority list at the moment. HUHEVAH that dose not mean I haven't been outfitting, I just haven't been able to get pics. BUT, I remembered a great way to photograph outfits.... the flat layout!!!!! tunic/pants-Old Navy(similar here  & here ) , sweater- Banana Republic , coat-H&M(similar here ), flats- Dr. Scholl's , necklace-Gifted Truth, this OOTD was worn last week on a unseasonably warm day, so that whole cold and dark thing really doesn't apply. But when you DO get a warm burst mid-winter it's a great opportunity for a pop-of-color like these pink cropped trousers. I took a cue from this bold hue and went a little crazy with some clashing, yet coordinated patterns. Black n' white stripes and polka dots, black and beige plaid, and on-trend leopard print. It's certainly a refreshing ...

One Hell of a Mesh

Neckline, armholes, and trim between stripes if faux-leather a great detail!  top- Piperlime (similarish here ), skirt-Zara(similarish here ), blazer-Forever 21(similar here ), sneakers-Old Navy(similar here ), necklace- chloe + isabel c/o Angela B I went back and forth on whether or not to pair this mesh tank and skirt. Didn't have a chance to photographic it in action, but this flat layout gives you an idea of how they work together. With the sneakers and graphic stripes this outfit is serving some athleisure -realness, made work appropriate by the knit blazer. I'm also loving the bit of glam the necklace adds, and that it picks up the silver accent from the blazer's buttons. Outfitting, it's all in the details.

Grey Smock Dress

dress- Isaac Mizrahi for Target (similar here ), tee- J.Crew belt-Urban Outfitters(more belts here ), socks- Kansas City Kitty , booties-Zara(similar here ), necklace-Gifted I call this my Russian peasant outfit, all I need is a babushka, right! This dress is GREAT for winter, warm and the satin-ish lining doesn't irritate my skin or cause static. I layered a striped shirt underneath with tights and over-the-knee socks for additional warmth, and to provide some color and pattern. The belt kept this dress from being a big grey sack, while these wedge booties mirrored the navy touches in the stripes and tights.   Sorry for the flat layout, but the weather didn't give us much to work with in terms of shooting outside. BUT, this outfit functioned really well despite the weather, keeping me warm and comfy!

Tweed Teal & Stripes

blazer/pants-J.Crew Factory(similar here and here ), tee -J.Crew, necklace-Bauble Bar(similar here ), heels-DSW(similar here ) I so wished we'd had the time and the daylight to shoot this outfit on! Oh well, such is the circumstances of life. This was a really dynamic and graphic look that I wore to work last week. The solid navy blazer offers a balance to the teal tweed, striped tee, leopard pumps, and statement necklace.  Adding a blazer is my go-to to finish off an outfit, it adds polish and snap AND brings what may appear to be disparate elements cohesion as an overall look.
