Boots of Red, Still Winter

We had a few days of very sweet, yet allergy-inducing tastes of spring but it's still winter and the weather can be fickle. While the official start of spring equinox is on the horizon, we all know here in Pittsburgh that days can turn chilly far into May.  Here's a wintery outfit that may be pulled out a few more times before I change over my wardrobe for warmer days.  pants-J.Crew(similar here ), sweater-Nordstrom Rack(similar here ), pull-on pants-Banana Republic Factory (similar here and here ), hat- KIN Apparel , sunnies-- Diff Eyewear , boots-Nordstrom(similar here )   Some may think the whole "pop of color" styling is outdated, or even cringe. But these red boots last seen here  enliven this navy and grey outfit. The fair isle sweater speaks to the winter we are transitioning out of while the punchy boots are stepping towards (pun intended) the coming fresh spring ahead.  Also, the "Mama" bracelet was made by my oldest! 👧💗

I'm a Loser, Baby

dress-Gap(similar here ), scarf- Octavia & Co . via Le Tote , bag- Foley & Corinna via Le Tote , ring-Jewel Mint(similar here at Poshmark You may recall this dress from this post . Yes it's a maternity piece, but the basic shift silhouette works post-baby as well. Plus pockets!!! I styled this bright-red frock with accessories from my latest tote. I had taken a break from subscriptions services during my pregnancy and decided to treat myself with some rentals to play around with for a few summertime outfits.  To be honest, there's not much outfitting happening this summer. I've been on maternity leave since beginning of June and my days are full of recovery, breastfeeding, diapering, napping and spending time with family. So yeah, I'm a "loser" staying in, wearing my husband's boxer briefs as shorts and nursing tanks.

Longer Lengths

cardi-Anthroplogie(similar here ), tunic- ModCloth , pants- Gap , boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom , necklace-Gifted(similarish  here via Etsy ), ring-Jewel Mint(more here via Poshmark ) You may recall this tunic in olive from this post . I couldn't resist picking up the darker red version, especially at the sale price as I'm loving longer lengths of late. There's a delicate balance when it comes to longer/hi-lo hems. Do you play into the extending the silhouette or contrast with cropped layers. I've chosen the former, as I feel it suits me better, and plus I'm just not  huge fan of cropped cardis, jackets, etc.  Also, I have an "Easter egg" in one of the purchase links above and in yesterday's post  alluding to an upcoming announcement... let me know if you can guess  it in the comments!

Winter White (& Black)

dress-eShakti(similar here ), cardigan-Anthropolige(similar here ), scarf-J.Crew Factory(similarish here ), boots-Lifestride via DSW(similar here )  This dress from eShakti will be a go-to this coming winter. It's super comfortable, work-appro, has pockets, and when worn on it's own gives me frontier-nun-schmatta realness, which is NOW a thing. Paired with this oversized cozy cardi and windowpane infinity scarf I'm bringing all sorts of winter white (& black) realness to your Tuesday! Yes, things are VERY real here today. 😁#fingersnaps
