Open-Backed Baby!!!!

Is there anything better than a great fitting jumpsuit? Yes, one with pockets!!!  jumpsuit-Nordstrom Rack(similar here ), necklace-gifted(similar here ) espadrilles-Eileen Fisher(more options here ) I've been a fan of jumpsuits for quite some time, as seen here , here , and here . But despite all of the umbrage of 2020, it WAS the year that I really stepped into the most flattering and fashionable jumpsuits of my outfitting career, as seen here and here . With this open-backed baby my jumpsuit game keeps getting stronger! I was out and about recently and some one said "I love your dress" to which I replied, "it's a jumpsuit with pockets!" and then struck versions of the following pose: And FYI, I'm not wearing a bra, but I am wearing some strategic shapewear from Yummie .

Last of the Summer Dresses

jacket- Gap , dress-eShakti (sort of similar here ), flats-Gap(similar here ), ring-Jewel Mint(available via Poshmark here ), necklace-Gifted(similar pieces here ) Summer is winding down and the bells are tolling for flowy summer dresses, oh the poetry of it all! Of course, you can transition a sundress into fall, and September is the best month for that transition since the days can still be hot and humid. I paired this boho midi with a fitted denim jacket to balance the volume of the skirt, and pop-of-color flats.  There are a two tricks in capturing the essence of the September sundress. First, have a jacket/coverup for the cool mornings that can be easily removed during hot afternoons. Think of pieces like a bomber jacket or a knitwear blazer. And, of course you can't go wrong with a lightweight sweater. Keep the more rigidly tailored pieces like a tweed blazer and chunky pullovers for later in the fall.  Second, be m...

Little Chambray Dress

dress- eShakti slip-ons- Native Shoes A little chambray dress is a great alternative to a little white dress during these late summer days. I've been on the search for just the right fit, feel, and fabric for quite some time. I think I've found my go-to summer staple with this frock from eShaki . It's easy, flattering, and of course pockets(!!!) I literally threw this on (over a cami), along with my summer slip-ons and sunglasses then headed out the door. And what a beautiful day! You can see the amazing blue sky in the window reflection, with just the right amount of breeze to add some movement to this sweet little dress. What a  simple and pretty summer style moment, right in time or Labor Day!

Spring Reveals

coat/tunic-H&M(similar here and here ), coatigan- J.Jill , pants /necklace-Banana Republic(similar necklace here ), flats- Dr. Scholls , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ) I love all of the reveals in these pictures. Like a blossom unfolding, each layer and pocket emerges for increasing chic-atude! What's also pretty chic, is how the color story of this look (and leopard flats) play into the bare branches and neutral landscape of early spring in this backdrop. I think I should do a lookback at how my outfitting and backgrounds have mirrored, informed, and called to each other over the years. I'm always really cognizant of the weather and how garments play with or against the season. This plaid coat, while it's an obvious autumnal piece, also works for the transition from winter to spring, and layers so well with longer cardigans(seen here ), and cardi-coat hybrids.  We have a few warm days ahead, so I'll be hanging up...
