Think Pink!

It's been a couple of weeks since my last post. Busy with the 9-to-5, parenting, adulting--bleck! Anyway, took a quarter of an hour last Thursday to put together a bubbly pink, lavender look! cardigan / top -Amazon, pants- Boden , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), necklace- Ana Luisa , ring- Skelton Jewelry , bag- Shiraleah shoes-Target(similar here ) If spring is not the season to wear pink (and lavendar), then I don't know when is! Overall, this ensemble is not very practical, I don't see myself wearing this to shop, walk, or work (when I'm back in the office) or anything other than a girlfriends brunch. But who cares? I was tempted to order this lavender crocheted peplum ruffled crop top (say that 5 times fast) from one of those Refinery29/Who What Wear "Here's the top 29 scores from Amazon" type of articles. I always enjoying browsing, but rarely end up ordering.  So glad I gave into temptation because this top is something I would have never allo...

Fun Shorts Friday -- Romper Edition

romper-Uniqlo(more options here ), tank/belt-Old Navy(similar here  and here ), necklace- Benevolence , bracelet- Bayou With Love , shoes- Born There was some debate as to whether or not this romper constitutes as shorts. But after reviewing these shots with the bright blue sky and leafy green hillside I  have deemed rompers eligible for #FunShortsFriday.  I normally wear this summertime staple around the house just with a sports bra because it's easy and soft and has pockets, perfect for lounging or light chores. This was also a comfortable and functional garment after I had my second baby two summers ago, easy access for breastfeeding, and loose on the crotch--essentials for any new mother. 😉👶 For this OOTD I styled it up with a crocheted tank, braided belt, gold jewelry, and my summer shoe of 2020 this sling-back sandal. I love the contrast of these graphic polka dots squares, with the boho bib of the tank grounded by neutral accessories. I also love wearing a layer ...

Fancy Print Pants

cardigan-Old Navy(similar here ), top/- Cupcake & Cashmere via Le Tote , pants-Anthropologie(more printed pants here ), loafers-Zara, ring- Le Tote , sunnies-Target(similarish here )  There is a special place in my stylish heart for printed pants as seen here , here , here , AND here . These toile trousers are my latest obsession in a long line of pattern bottoms. Purchased on mega-sale from Anthropologie, I paired these skinny crops with a crochet overlay top and neutral cardigan. It can be hard to style statement pants like these. Do you go with a minimal shirt, so as not to compete with the focus of the print? Or do you lean-in on the pattern and wear an equally dynamic top? Balance vs. contrast, subtly vs. statement? For me, it's a case by case decision, thinking about what will make for a better overall outfit. For this OOTD the black & white pallet makes it easier to wear more than one statement garment....

Wrapped Up in Stripes

wrap-ModCloth(similarish here ), blouse- Cupcake and Cashmere via  Le Tote , leggings /loafers-Zara(similar here ), ring-Jewel Mint(similarish here from Poshmark ) This blouse has become a workwear go-to since April,as seen here . Now in October I've gone all comfy-cozy for a rainy week with these high-waisted leggings and super-versatile wrap. I don't usually sport leggings for the office, but this black pair is more structured then a standard workout legging, and the layered hem of the blouse and extra-long hem of the cardi provide enough coverage for work.
