Mirror Selfies 2021

Who among us hasn't taken a mirror selfie? And in these pandemic times, there have been days when only the mirror (and my husband and kids) have gotten to witness my outfitting skills. You may recall last year some posts on "What I would have worn to a holiday party"  here and here .    Well for my last post this year I wanted to highlight a few of the year's mirror selfies, most notably those I took in the office bathroom on the days I was at an actually place of business, not my third floor (drafty) den.  blazer-Zara(more options here ), cami- LilySilk pants-Gap(similar here ) loafer-Anne Klein(similar here ) I posted this on  Instagram  in September, as an early return-to-the-office look.  Wanted something not too-over-the-top, but elevated with a pop! And she was accessorized with RBG!  RBG Pin- Wildfang (currently available here ) sweater- Gap , pants- Anthropologie (similar here ), loafers-Anne Klein(similar here ) What can I sa...

Return to Work Part II

The countdown has begun for returning to an office space here after Labor Day. You may recall from my last post here , I've been styling different "Return to Work" looks for the first week back.  Here's a dress option, still deciding on the shoes... dress Vince Camuto via Nordstrom Rack , cardigan- Amazon Essentials , loafers-DSW(similar  here ), wedges- Eileen Fisher via Nordstrom Love that this dress has pockets and it's so easy to wear. She actually, hasn't been out of the house yet, so I'm excited to debut her. You know how there are some pieces that you want to have a good occasion to wear for the first time? I think this dress qualifies. What do we think, loafers or wedges? The cardigan is more of a functional choice, as I'm sure the AC will be pumping even after Labor Day.

Return to Work Part I

I am returning to my office after Labor Day! I'll be working a hybrid schedule with Tue-Thurs at work and Monday and Friday at home. So for those three days in office I need to bring the LOOKS!!! Here's a potential first-week-back outfit.  blazer-Gap(similar here via Poshmark ), Tee- Universal Standard , pants-Boden(similar here ), loafers-Sole Society(similar here ) First blazer from Asos (similar here ). I love the colors here and the mix of a t-shirt with a blazer and trousers. I think the lavender/pink POPS the most and best captures the spirit I'm going for. I may switch out the silver loafers for the white sneakers featured in this post .  Also, here's the website of the artist that designed this tee Marylou Faure . Love her color aesthetic and celebratory rendering of the female form balancing lusciousness and power.  "Lusciousness & Power" will either be the name of my organic body products brand or the title of the graphic novel version of my co...

Turtleneck Tuesday Floral Edition

Technically, this is more of a smocked top, then a turtleneck, but a high-waisted neckline is good enough for me--Happy #TurtleneckTuesday! Usually I'm wearing sunglasses, but wanted to show off some eye shadow application. I'm far from a makeup-pro, but I'm thinking this blue/teal eye could be a go-to for winter.   hat-Old Navy(similar here ), jacket-Nordstrom(similar here ), blouse /necklace-Pavement(similar necklace here ). belt- Amazon , culottes-Mango(similar here ), rings- Mejuri , boots- Nine West , eye color- e.l.f . As in this post , I wanted to amp up the style factor from my regular Turtleneck Tuesday OOTDs here in the new year. I recently picked up this lovely smocked top from a local shop Pavement in the Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh that is bringing a bit of fresh air into winter outfitting.  This fleece coatigan is the perfect mid-layer for winter and gives any outfit another set of pockets!

Chic Shorts Friday

top / shorts / necklace - Le Tote , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , wedges- Eileen Fisher via Nordstrom , watch-Wenger(similar here ) Switching things up in this post from #funshortsfriday to #chicshortsfriday with this monotone outfit. Top, shorts, and necklace were all in my most recent tote, and these wedges I got on huge sale earlier this summer.  To be honest, I wore this look just to take these photos. I did also go to the grocery store (masked) afterwards, but I didn't organically wear this as an outfit in my daily life. If this was a normal summer, I would have totally pushed against the office dresscode and worn these suiting shorts and asymmetrical top to work and shocked all of the sartorial purists that think shorts and bare shoulders are inappropriate for the workplace.
