Sweater Weather Fringe Edition

Picked up the nubby, cozy, cuddly knit with a wonderful fringed split side hem!  hat- Nordstro m, coat-H&M(similar here ), sweater- Mango , jeans- Levi's , necklace/ring-Thrifted, ring- Mejuri , boots-Sorel(similar her e), lip- Loreal Paris Jeans and a sweater is a simple go-to winter look, but this statement knit with the side split hemmed in fringe gives this OOTD a twist. I leaned into that twist with a fedora, some thrifted costume jewelry, and a dark lip. What you don't see is the full layer of a leggings-- Girlfriend Collective , and a bodysuit- Gap  underneath the sweater and jeans for extra insulation during the chilly days. Normally, I'd wear a heavier coat and a knit cap in the snow, but for photos and for the sake of outfitting, I donned this pea coat and jaunty hat, both of which I've had forever(seen here and here ).  It's been cold and snowy and mostly grey here in Pittsburgh, but spring is 43 days away and my husband got his first vaccine shot a...

Bright Orange Sweater

coat-Costco(similar here ), sweater-Mango(similar here ), trousers-Landsend(similar here ), belt-Gap(similar here ), boots-L.L. Bean(similar here ), watch-Wenger(similar here ) Or is it red? Either way, this comfy chunky knit is giving me all the autumnal realness I crave as Halloween approaches. These cropped pants, hooded trench, and rugged boots also speak to the season, and while I kept the rest of this OOTD fairly muted in tone, to let this on-trend statement sweater be the center of attention, if you look at the detail shots you can see a hint of orange in the plaid of the trousers.  Not so muted after all, eh?

Statement Sweater

trench- Costco , sweater-Madewell(more options here ), shorts- Anthropologie (similar from Asos here ), legwarmers- American Apparel , boots-DSW(similar here ) I've had this oversized statement sweater for years, when chunky knits were having a moment. The current knitwear trend includes off-the-shoulder silhouettes, prints, and embellishments, like fringe and tassels. And while this pullover isn't necessarily "of the moment" it's a great piece for late fall/early winter AND a comfy option for holiday dressing. To balance out the bulkiness of the sweater I went with these tweedy shorts, tights, and legwarmers. Loving how these shorts "match" my basic Costco-brand trench!
