Spring = Leather

With this recent thaw and warmer days, spring is definitely in the air. And while most think of floral dresses and pastel colors for spring, this outfitter is drawn toward leather! Leather Jacket/Combat Boots-Nordstrom(similar here and here ), blouse- Pavement , sweats- Mango I love the mix of seemingly disparate elements to this look.  The leather jacket and combat boots obviously go hand-in-hand, but this feminine blouse and very unexpected pair of joggers come together for a surprisingly low-key chic outfit.

Working From Home

So the past month has been quite a challenge for everyone. And I am very blessed to still be gainfully employed and able to work from home. And like may folks who are continuing their jobs from home I've been in a number of Zoom, Teams, and Skype meetings. And by now everyone has their WFH business up top, casual on the bottom go-to looks.  Here are two of mine from earlier this month. blouse-- Le Tote , sweats-- Forever 21 Men (similar here ) This is a familiar outfit for all of us nowadays. Simply patterned shirts and comfy black sweatpants for a few "check-in" zoom calls with my co-workers.    For the "BIG" meetings with senior staff, or if I have to present official shit, I like to class it up a bit.  blouse- J.Crew , leggings-Zara(similar here ), necklace- Le Tote I even tried to zhuzh my hair a bit more on this day. I like alternating between baggier pants and more fitted bottoms. It's been on the chillier side here recen...

"Church" Sweats

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt / joggers -Gap, scarf-Vintage, boots-Landsend(similar here ) For this OOTD I paired comfy joggers with a tunic and blazer for a mishmash of relaxed and tailored style. My husband jokes that these are my "church" sweats, in that they are a nicer version of my layabout sweat pants that I can sneak in as "proper" pants in dressier outfits. And yes, I HAVE worn them to church, but not on a high holiday or anything. More like Saturday afternoon mass when the dress code is a bit more lax, you feel me?

Awaiting Arrival

You may recall from this post my ongoing search for the perfect white blazer. Well I've taken the plunge and ordered this version from J.Crew: Thompson Blazer in  Bi-Stretch Cotton  also available in several other colors. My plan is to wear this piece beyond summer into fall and hopefully next spring as well. I'm debating on getting the "matching" trousers... In the meantime, included in the white blazer shipment are these wool, drawstring bottoms.  Drapey Wool Sweatpant You may recall how last year I deemed S/S '14 as the season for the drapey pant here . Well, I'm going to revive that proclamation for THIS summer in the vein of athleisure wear and all around comfort. This pair being wool, will also be great come fall/winter. When adding new pieces to one's wardrobe I think it's smart to see beyond the current season and plan ahead. Being a dyed-in-the-wool Virgo I can't help but make a plan, and I LOVE making outfitting plans ...
