Amazon Shops

My relationship with Amazon first began as a great resource for cheap used books, then became my  go-to for drugstore items, then Christmas Shopping. Recently, I've been finding myself searchingh for fashion... or at least clothing that suits my needs. Which lead to me my two favorite shops right now  Mordernmiss & Iconic Luxe You may recall my striped and pocketed Iconic Luxe dress from this post . Here are a few more knit frocks I have an eye on: Embroidered Bib Dress Cotton Shirt Dress Knit Smock Dress Striped Midi Fit n' Flare This last one is basically the same dress I already have, but in grey. 😀 What can I say, I like what I like.  Overall, as you can see they offer basic easy-to-wear dresses with pockets that are a great starting point for an outfit, or just something to throw on before heading to the store! For casual clothes with a bit of a boho, Japanese-inspired twist, like the top from this post ,  Mordenmiss has some ...

70's Art Teacher Realness

smock-Everlane(similar here ), scarf- Le Tote , trousers-Zara(similar here ), loafers-Sole Society(similar here ) Yes, I am bringing 70's Art-Teacher-Realness with this outfit of a smock, skinny scarf, and ecru trousers. And, even though I was late to the dress-over-pants trend party, I think I've made it my own here. The fact that this smock dress has a collar like a shirt makes this "believable" plus, the skinny scarf as "necktie" also helps to sell the look.

Yes, Another Smock Dress

These past couple of months back at work after being on maternity leave, have been transitional in a variety of ways. Not only have I been getting back into my professional groove and finding the new weekday routine, I've also been coming back to myself and figuring out who I am  now as a working mother/a mother in general, and of course my physical body is still in transition. So, one way I've been "coming back to myself" is through outfitting, duh! And I'm looking for clothing that suits my style, which is veering toward functional simplicity, so I've ordered this dress! Mimu Maxi I was eyeing up the olive version in this post  last month, but alas it was sold out so, I opted for the denim take. And yes I've been on a bit of a smock dress kick, but why the heck not?! You can't beat a throw-on-and-go type of garment, and this silhouette serves my body very well at the moment.  I've been a fan of Mimu Maxi for a while after having purc...

The Artist Smock

I've been aware of the brand Everlane for quite some time, which focuses on what they call "radical transparency" aka knowing where your clothing is made, how it's made, and the actual cost for sustainable fashion. So yeah, their basics do run a bit more than average, but you can be sure of ethical business and labor practices.  And occasionally, they'll have a "name your own price" sale when they have overstock, which is why I recently ordered this: The Artist Smock I'm feeling this is going to be a go-to for work this spring/summer. I juts hope the fit is flattering on my post-baby body. Speaking of which, I've also been feeling the need for less structured more "abstract" garments. I don't know if that's the extra pounds talking, or the craving for simplicity with a twist. You know, like a stylized effortlessness in my outfitting. What does that look like? Besides the above smock, I'm thinking this dress capture...
