Outfits Not Just Clothes

Bass Factory Outlet , necklaces-Gifted from Lucky Feather and Etsy , bracelet- BaYou with Love , ring- Mejuri I know I'm "j.crewing" all over myself in this outfit, but you can't beat their classic preppy and plaid pieces for fall. This look is an example of my go-to style uniform since I started this blog ( here , here , here , & here ). I often wear this outfit formula of cropped trousers, button-down, blazer, and loafers when I don't know what else to wear. And it can be quite versatile, you can swap in jeans, or replace the blazer with an overcoat, play around with layers, you're only limited by your imagine.

It's a look that I have been sporting for years ( 2012 , 2013 , and 2015 ) and it's a simple enough to evolve over time, while still looking fresh and fitting into my lifestyle. That's the wonderful thing about having a style uniform that grows with you as you move from one chapter of life to the next. I experimented with various silhouettes and style combos before finding the outfit formula that worked best for me, and I've been tweeking it every since. For this iteration, it's really all about this bright pink pants(last seen here ). They are the star of this look, with the button-down picks up the color in the stripes, and the neutral cardi and sneakers finish things off with a nod to functionality.

We've got layers, plaid, we've got a horse print, loafers, argyle socks, and a slouchy shirt tuck! Plus the brown-earth tone color story, supported by an olive and brown backdrop is giving me all things autumn-realness! Yes, there are a lot of exclamation points for a standard shirt, pants, shoes, & coat, but the print-mixing, androgynous attitude, seasonal appropriateness, and how great I felt wearing this ensemble justify the punctuation.  The hair is another story, I'm choosing not to see it. 😉
