Orange Blazer and Feminism

Sometimes a good outfit can be a simple t-shirt & jeans, with boots and a blazer for a bit of polish. I also layered in a chambray shirt for some denim-on-denim action, which is a styling trick I really like for spring. Of course this t-shirt serves up a message.  "They Didn't Burn Witches They Burned Women" blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt-Gap(similar here ), T-shirt- TeePublic ,  jeans- Universal Standard , bracelets- Nordstrom , ring-Mejuri(similar here ), boots-DSW(similar here ) On the surface there's nothing revolutionary about this look. Again, a fairly simple formula of jeans, tee, blazer, and boots with a layered chambray shirt. However, the bright orange and how it plays on the colors of the T-shirt, and of course the messaging makes these clothes an outfit.  I'm not going to presume that I'm changing the world by wearing a feminist T-shirt, but it's in the small ways and subtle cues is part of making a difference especially for these two...

Wild Feminist at Work

blazer-Forever 21(similarish here ), tee- Wildfang , skirt-Zara(similar here ), loafers- ModCloth , bracelet-Gifted Usually we outfit shoot on the way home from work, but sometimes when the weekday schedule is tight I'll don a look that I intend to wear and we'll do quick photos during the weekend. This outfit had a slightly different styling IRL, I swapped out the cropped grey blazer for a black, boxier version seen here , and these B&W loafers for a sliver pair seen here . Regardless of shoes and 3rd piece it's all about the juxtaposition of this t-shirt with the skirt! And I was definitely pushing the limits on the office dresscode with this ensemble. Which it what a feminist SHOULD do--"push the limits".

Wild Feminist

tee- Wildfang , shirt-Uniqlo(more shirts here ), leggings- Zara , necklace- Le Tote , sunnies-Borrowed, sneakers- Easy Spirit The tee says is all, amiright? You may recall this post , where I featured my purchase of this t-shirt. Now here it is in action! For such a straight-forward outfit there's really a lot going on. At first this look came about "ass-over-tea-kettle" if you will, but I really love the seamless sense of  style going on here. When taken in parts, this is just a tee w/ leggings, and a shirt. However, the message of this tee, with the camo shirt, and men's sunglasses are pure tomboy, while the leggings are somewhat fem AND super-flattering. The necklace and watch give this a bit of grownup glamour, while the sneakers are kind of an admitted cop-out. These are my "house" sneakers. They literally save my feet after a long day going up and downstairs baby in tow. I needed support for this day, out and about....

WILDFANG

I've recently discovered a new online store and blog  WILDFANG  that features tees, shirts, pants, and outerwear for us Tomboys with style! So obvie I'm over-the-moon for this brand and gobbling up their Ultimate Jogger Fit Guide among other posts and browsing their wares. I'm currently awaiting the arrival of my first order: Tee Pant That t-shirt says it all, right? Now it turns out, the pants I ordered above were out of stock in my size, so I got a very nice email from Samala with apologies and options (I LOVE options) to A) get the pants in a size up or down from the one I originally ordered, B) pick another item on the site of equal or lesser value, or C) drop the pants from my order and get a refund. I choose B and asked for these babies to be shipped!  Shorts Flamingo-print drawstring shorts, sign me up please! These shorts are on sale, and may not be available, and if so I asked for a different size in the pants above. Waiting to hear back ...
