Sweater Vest Weather

The days are getting warmer, but I can't seem to let go of sweaters, just yet... especially after scoring some great thrifted XL men's sweater vests.  blouse-Gap(more options here ), sweater vest/locket necklace-Thrifted, jodhpurs-Asos(similarish here ), boots-L.L. Bean(similar here ), rings- Mejuri , sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ) Again, I'm giving you some equestrian-English-countryside realness as seen in this post.  And how could I not with these amazing jodhpurs, which have quite a historical place on this blog first appearing all the way back in 2011 !!! Which just goes to show a quality piece will stand the test of time.  As for the rest of this look, I paired a very ladylike blouse with this men's sweater vest and kept the rugged vibe of the jodhpurs going in these pull-on work boots, while keeping the jewelry a bit more romantic. I think that's why I'm so drawn to this aesthetic, it's the mix of rugged and romantic like a classic novel set on ...

Sweater Weather's Not Over Yet

As we inch closer and closer to spring, the days can still be chilly and spring time sweater dressing is in full effect! coat-Asos(similar here ), sweater-Thrifted, dress-Landsend(similar here ), boots-DSW(similar here ), pin- Shiny Apple ring- Mejuri , bracelet- BaYou with Love I'm channeling some English Countryside Equestrian vibes in this OOTD. You may think the from-across-the-pond aesthetic is exclusive to fall, but early spring, when things are still bare, yet bright is also a time of earth tones, plaids, and texture. Just like fall, spring is also a season for strategic layering and transitions. This cherry blossom pin is a small gesture towards the lush season to come.  Once May hits then we'll see more traditional spring style--pastels, florals, etc. For now, bring on the sweaters, boots, and classic outerwear.

3-Piece Outfit Looking to the Future

Even with working from home I always try to get dressed in some way every morning. Whether it's activewear, jeans and a tee, or some coordinated loungewear, as seen in this post !   coat/sneakers-H&M(similar here and here ), sweatshirt- Hanes , sweatpants-Old Navy(similarish here ), jewelry- Mejuri This outfit was inspired by this Who What Wear article  from last month. The basic outfit formula is a matching loungewear set with a tailored overcoat and boots. I reinterpeted the footwear option and swapped in sneakers with the warmer and less wet weather. I also added in some gold jewelry and lipstick to elevate the overall look.  Last year around this time , my outfitting was VERY different consisting mostly of androgynous work wear and subdued-hued dresses.  But as we have all come to learn, a lot can change in a year, and I think how we dress reflects those changes more than ever. As winter starts to wind down and things start opening up I hope to embrace ...

More Orange for Sprinter

Last week I featured an orange puffer jacket with an activewear matching set here . In this OOTD I'm sporting an orange blazer and mixing things up with workwear over joggers and sneakers.    blazer-J.Crew(similarish here ), shirt-Gap(more options here ), joggers-Columbia Sportswear(more options here ), sunglasses-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), socks- Target , sneakers-Zara(similar here ), ring- Mejuri I kind of have a thing for wearing orange in March, as seen here . I find it such a vibrant and bold color to wear for sprinter (spring/winter). Beyond the season, a good orange can elevate basics, while making statement pieces stand out even more. For this outfit I switched up the expectations by styling a novelty print button-down and tailored blazer with hiking joggers and colorblock sneakers. It's a bit of a mullet look--quirky business up top, urban hike on the bottom. With working from home, I've definitely re-evaluated weekday outfitting, trying to still be stylish wi...
