Outfits Not Just Clothes

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Last week I put up two dresses for a  vote  on which to buy and wear for a upcoming family wedding. The winner is: a Eyelet Dress This frock received the most votes. The color is great and the eyelet fabric is ideal for summer, so lots of potential for other occasions/events this season.  The other candidate: Striped Dress was also purchased because I couldn't make up my mind despite the reader comments. The fact this dress was made out of 100% cotton really appealed to me, as did is simple-with-a-twist style. I figured whichever dress worked the best I'd keep and return the other(and gave myself permission to keep both if they looked equally fabulous). Well folks, turns out both dress missed the mark! It's been a while since we had a reader vote and I need some input for what to wear to an upcoming family wedding in July. Don't worry I already have the baby's outfit ready to go. We picked up a super cute dress on clearance from Hanna Andersson that looks similar to this: Hanna Andersson This IS a bit more casual than the dress we bought, but it has the same kind of low-key, rustic-chic vibe of the actual dress.  As I said this is a family wedding in July that will be fairly traditional, and in a rural setting. Mr. Keller and I received our first wedding invite for 2015! I've been thinking about a summer "suit" for a wedding I'm attending in August.  The standard dress route does have its conveniences, least of which is the better match for warm weather.  BUT, formal-ish dresses can be such a pain in the a** sometimes requiring shape wear or weird bras.  Plus, a wedding(and a Catholic one at that) is usually a 4 hour (minimum) affair and I think wearing pants would be way more comfortable then a tight, fitted dress.  So I've made a purchase from Zara .
