All The Fall Feels

As the bits of scattered leaves in these pics indicate fall is here friends! Autumn is such a rich sartorial season what with prints, textures, and layers. Here I'm very much serving Autumnal Office!

What I really love about this outfit is the colors and silhouette, both feel very fresh after a sticky summer, but also timeless, a classic outfit formula of turtleneck, trousers, and a blazer.  

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have seen this post of these trousers that I wore to work for a full day (a day with in-person meetings) and neglected to fully remove the tag. 🤦 but no one noticed, hence the advantage of a looser trouser trend.  You may recall this blazer from several other fall outfit posts in past years, here and here.

Rent the Runway to the Rescue

So after the semi-disastrous dress vote from last week I took the stiletto by the heel, aka reserved this Slate & Willow dress from Rent the Runway  for the wedding in July.  Slate & Willow I had my eye on this as a possible outfit for the Tilda Swinton event I attended last month (fancy I know!) But, ended up going pretty casual since it was just a film screening. An AMAZING screening, but not a dressy affair nonetheless.  Anyway, this striped sheath has so many good reviews from a variety of fellow renters in all shapes and sizes, I didn't see one unflattering user pic, so I'm fairly confident this frock will serve my needs come July. Annie Lennox Realness!

Love the tuxedo detail of these cropped pants. coat/pants-Jcrew(similar here and here ), blazer-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Asos(sort of similar here ), shoes-DSW(really cool here ), gloves-Brian Atwood for Neiman Marcus/Target(more gloves here ), sunglasses-Banana Republic(similar here ) I'm feeling very Annie Lennox circa Eurythmics in this outfit, eh? Most times wearing a coat is a necessity, not necessarily an intricate part of the outfit, but here it really makes the look. And even though the blazer is covered up the hints of it, almost like a lining, work break up an all grey/white look.  And now for your viewing pleasure  Sweet Dreams:   Have a great weekend!
