The Harlow Pant

Since I am now in my Diane Keaton Style Era, there is a trouser silhouette that's been on my radar. Madewell's the Harlow Pant . I first read about these trousers here back in February but hadn't pulled the trigger on buying. Instead, I've finally gone to the source (Madewell at Ross Park Mall ) to try on IRL...  trousers , sweater , dress --Madewell, t-shirt- For Days , flats- Allbirds The last pic belies my love of blue stripes... But what do we think? I'm not sure the cut of these trousers is all that flattering on me. I'm not loving them, but I am intrigued by them. I like that I can wear them with flats vs the wide-legged pants that require heels if not hemming.  But again, how flattering are these pants? Is this a pass? I do find myself attracted to this silhouette when I see it online, and out in the wild, but I just don't think it serves me, even though it gives high Keaton vibes.  I didn't end up buy any of the pairs I tired, but I did pick up ...

Jumpsuit as Overalls

jumpsuit- Banana Republic Factory , tee- For Days , sunnies- DIFF Eyewear , rings- Mejuri , bag- ModCloth (more options here ), sneakers- Zara (more options here ) The season is starting to turn toward fall (finally) and I figured I'd mark the end of summer as I started it--with this jumpsuit ! As in the first post I styled this with a tee and this bright blue crossbody bag. However, for this #OOTD I switched out the striped shirt for a darker v-neck and sandals for sneakers.  I like how this chambray jumpsuit is almost like a grown-up, elevated version of denim overalls, which just goes to show you can recreate casual/youthful looks for your sophisticated lady self.

Ready for Fall

In a  post last week, I featured some recent buys.  Well packages have arrived and I'm anticipating a very stylish and badass autumn with these pieces: Jacket / boots - Nordstrom , tee- For Days , joggers- Uniqlo Even though I'm just trying on the jacket and boots, I kind of love them with these hiked-up sweats and simple tee. That's the thing about statement pieces, you can go either really basic with the rest of your look, OR go for an unexpected mash-up like wearing these more masculine pieces with this summery, girly dress: Anthropologie So even though it IS still technically summer, and the weather is still very summer like, I'm looking forward to a September full of jackets, and boots, and of course sweaters!
