Hearts on Hearts on Hearts

💕💖 Hello! It's been a very busy and quite active summer since my last post back in June!  We've been road-tripping, Picklesburghing, trekking kiddos to camps, and enjoying our city and shopping local. Here's a recent running-around-on-errands outfit.  jacket-J.Crew Factory(more cropped version here ), T-shirt-Kansas City Kitty(more options here ), pants-Boden(similar here ), sneakers-H&M(similar here ) Necklace/Bracelet-- Slide Jewels Box Subscription Speaking of shopping small, this T-shirt featured previously here and here  was not so local, but still small at a boutique in Fort Collins, CO when I was visiting last year.  You can get this heart graphic in sticker form still.  And speaking of 💕I've paired up this tee with a heart pendant and heart bracelet.  This pants weren't the best for summer, but I couldn't resist the pink as a bottom for the tee. Basically the T-shirt dictated the rest of the outfit.  Oh, and I can tell it's been a whil...

A Sort of Matching Set

I love a matching set for warmer days. Don't get me wrong, a cozy loungewear set is great for curling up when it's cold out, but for being out and about in spring and summer, having a go to top and bottom to just throw on makes outfitting so much easier. I've featured various sets here , here , and here . On this day in May I took a slightly different approach.  sweater / shorts --Quince, tee-Kansas City Kitty(similar here ), sneakers-H&M(similar here ) While this sweater and pair of shorts aren't EXACT matches, the fact that they are from the same brand in the same-ish tone makes them easy pieces to match up. I featured this tee-shirt last June, here . It's a bit more cropped then I normally go for in tees, but these elastic waisted bottoms make for an easy wearing and I love how the graphic is framed when the sweater is worn over the shoulders. This makes for a handy AC trick here this spring and summer. Use the sweater as an "accessory" then pop it ...

Summer Stripes

A couple weeks past, when being outside here in Pittsburgh was slightly more tolerable, I donned these linen pants, sheer tee, and threw a cashmere sweater over my shoulders for a blue tonal look thats giving Sunday brunch just as easily as casual office. You may recall these pants from a post last summer when I was feeling the Diane Keaton of it all.  Slightly different take here.  sweater-Madewell(similar here ), tee-Anthorpologie(similar here ), pants-Boden(similar here ), Sneakers-Zara(similar here ), earrings-- The Seedy Merchant on Etsy I think the back view of this outfit is the most dynamic with the surprise pairing of stripes and the mirrored drape of both the sweater and tee-shirt. Sweaters are oddly essential for surviving modern summers where freezing AC seems to be ubiquitous. And while yes you can stash a cardi in your bag to throw on when needed, I prefere wrapping it around the waist or shoulders as part of the overall outfit, as long as it's not too bulky or...

Outfitting with Art

Here in Pittsburgh we are very lucky to have the Andy Warhol Museum as part of the Carnegie Museum system. And I'm very lucky to be able to have a membership in that museum group for me and my family. The other week, my husband and I had a day-date to check out a special exhibit at the Warhol on Pgh's North Shore. I, of course had to outfit in a Warholian theme.  blazer/skirt-J.Crew(similar here and here ), tee-Kansas City Kitty(more tees here ), necklace / bracelet / ring -Ana Luisa, tote-???, sneakers-Zara(more options here ) Posed in front of "Cows" across the street from the museum where they've expanded into an outdoor public space. From the colors, to the graphic floral pattern, the heart graphic tee, and the watermelon tote, this outfit totally speaks to the venue and the aesthetic. I posed in front of Flowers and Camo painting inside posted on my Instagram .  We checked out this current exhibit Good Business looking at Warhol's screenprints. It wa...
