...And We're Back!

cardi-Martin & Osa(similar here ), dress- French Connection via Le Tote , thermal- Gap , boots-G.H. Bass(similar here ), bracelet-Banana Republic(similar here ), pendants-Gifted It's been several weeks since my last post. The holidays, illness, and dark days with bad lighting for outfit pics have all contributed to the unintended hiatus. But I'm back in a midi-dress via Le Tote . The print here is very summery, but the cool tones are spot-on, as fall becomes winter. I kept the cool blues and greys going with the cardigan and boots. I also played around with filters, warmth, and clarity in the editing of these photos, what do you think?

90's Bunny Print

And here's the new haircut, as promised in this post ! Look closely you can see a couple of bunnies at the bottom right. blazer-Gap(similarish here ), dress- Old Navy , boots-Nine West(similarish here ), ring- French Connection Pairing a whimsical printed (and silhouetted) dress with black tights, boots, and a blazer is very 90's in my book. And it's very on-trend at the moment, but what makes this sweet little frock all the more sweeter is that shares a print with a matching set I bought for Baby Girl: Onesie Leggings Couldn't you just die!!!!! We didn't get a chance to photograph Little Miss wearing her bunny prints, and quite frankly we're not too keen on featuring her face on the blog just yet (if ever). So trust that we looked quite the Mommy & Baby pair in our coordinated looks. But of course, with these boots and black touches I was ever the cool mom!

Stripes & Shorts

"shirt"- French Connection via Le Tote (similar here ), shorts-J.Crew(similar here ), sandals-TOMS(similar here ), necklace-H&M(similar here ), ring- Le Tote This top is actually a knit, bodycon dress that I'm wearing as a striped tee. And, this outfit in general is another example of "transitional dressing" as seen here and here . Pairing a longer-sleeved top in a color/pattern that calls to the coming season with a pair of easy drawstring shorts and sandals straddles the line between summer and fall, which is what transitional dressing is all about. With any great IRL outfit, it's about finding the balance amidst style, function, season, and looking/feeling great! All of those marks are hit in this seemingly simple look, don't you agree?

Another Summer Shorts Suit

blazer- J.Crew , shirt-ModCloth(similar here ), loafers- G.H. Bass , shorts- G.H.Bass Factory Outlet , ring-French Connection(similar here ), necklace-Jewel Mint(similar here from H&M) Last month I rocked this version of a shorts suit. Here, I've gone the nautical route with anchor print shorts, and a light-blue striped shirt, finished off with a crisp white blazer and weejun loafers for a fresh menswear-inspired ensemble. Technically shorts are a no-go at work, but I've made this office appro with the blazer and button-down. And I challenge anyone out there to call this casual/unprofessional. Come at me!

Soda Jerk Chic

shirt-ModCloth(similar here ), pants- Uniqlo , bow tie- American Apparel , jacket- Gap (super old), pins-Vintage, shoes- Dr. Scholls , ring-French Connection(similar here ) With this striped shirt and bow tie I immediately felt like an old-time soda jerk at the drugstore on Main Street! You feel me? I haven't busted out a bow tie in quite awhile, both IRL and here on the blog. I think the bow tie trend is coming to a close, but I'm loving how the red really pops, especially in the closeup pics! This very old denim jacket was a last minute throw on, as it was kind of chilly in the morning. The three pins on the collar basically live there, and maybe aren't technically vintage, but I've had them for well over a decade. I used to be obsessed with little pins and had them on everything. Some have survived various closet purges, others not so much... However, I found myself sifting through a bunch at Wildcard over the weekend... t...
