Fall Forest

I don't often post athletic wear or what I would call errand-running or bus stop outfits, but how well these leggings and sweatshirt "matched up" earned them a posting. I did wear this look for an errands and we were able to pop out of the car quick for some shots with this on-theme backdrop. sweatshirt- Signals , leggings-- Constantly Varied Gear , bag-- Waterfly , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , ring-- Skeleton Jewelry , sneakers-Ascis(similar here )  There's a lot of teal in this look. And one could maybe argue that it's a bit matchy-matchy, however this found "matching set" needs to be recognized. The leggings pattern they are calling Aurora Borealis, and you can find similar forest and sky-themed prints here and here . While the sweatshirt is titled Misty Mountains and comes in hoodie form here . I'll take the misty mountains and night lights all season long!

She's Outdoorsy!

Over the holidays we stayed close to home, but were able to get outside a bit. Spent most days wearing a version of this outfit. Over the past year I've gone more casual in my looks, but am always looking to elevate your basic sweatshirt and leggings. So it's a forest-printed pullover and colorblock leggings!  sweatshirt- Signals , leggings-Old Navy(all the leggings here ), scarf-American Apparel(similar here ), bag-- Herschel via FabFitFun , sneakers-Asics(similar here ), ring- Skelton Jewelry It was a very grey overcast (yet oddly warm) December day when we took these pictures.  I felt silly wearing sunglasses, so it's a rare bare face post. Well not bare, I'm wearing some Glossier , I'm not insane. As mentioned above, causal/active wear doesn't have to be shclumpy or boring, finding and pairing standard pieces rendered in prints and fun colors takes the boring out of basics.

Post Holiday Hygge

coat-H&M(more options  here ), sweater- Saks off Fifth (similar here ), pants-Banana Republic Factory(similar here ), loafers- G.H. Bass , bracelet-Gifted (available from Signals ) I took a bit of hiatus from blogging over the holiday season. With two little ones it's hard to find the time to capture the sartorial moments, let alone edit and post them.  So here we are with some mid-winter hygge style thanks to this fair-isle sweater from Saks off Fifth and easy pull-on pants from Banana Republic Factory .  This OOTD is a more casual-day-of-work office outfit, what with the loafers and plaid coat. If I was truly being hygge I'd opt for furry-lined boots and puffy or robe-like outerwear.  I hope to be back weekly here, but as with every year, winter does put a damper on outfit shooting, but trust outfit wearing IS happening.  If you don't already, please follow me on instagram  for outfit-realted, mom...

White Denim for Fall

jacket- J.Crew , sweater-Banana Republic(similar here ), pants- Gap Factory , necklace-Chloe + Isabel(available here via Poshmark ), flats- Dr. Scholl's , bracelet-Gifted(available here via Signals ), ring-Jewel Mint(available here via Poshmark )  There's just something about a denim jacket that feels so right for early fall. I don't know if it's reminiscent of adolescent back-to-school days, or the rustic feel of denim that plays into the woodsy wishes of autumn, but for whatever jean jacket=fall in my style book! Going with white denim flips that script a bit, since white is a warm weather color, however with summer like temperatures lasting until October, a white jean jacket is a great transitional piece that straddles both seasons, sartorially speaking.  The crocheted yoke of this sweater top also bridges the divide between summer and fall, while these leopard flats are right on trend. Plus, you can't go ...
