The Last of This Summer's Stripes

As summer is coming to a close I have one more strip-loving look to share with you all. You may recall the sweater from this post . Well here it is again, AND shot in the same location. Same sweater, same spot, different outfit!  If you look closely you may notice that most of my nails have a French-tip thanks to Ohora . The index finger stick-on didn't make it through the day, but the rest of may nails stayed nice for a whole week. Stick-on Manis may be in my future.  sweater-Madewell(similar here ), dress- Gap , sunnies-Versace(check out options from the Sunglass Hut here ), jewelry- Nordstrom , tote- The Frick Pittsburgh Gift Shop , sneakers-H&M(similar here ) Are there too many stripes? No, of course not! And even those these stripes aren't tone-on-tone matching, it still works because of the contrasting proportions of each stripe pattern. Wider spacing on the sweater creates enough of a visual break from the tighter stripes of the dress for an overall dynamic lo...

Ongoing Sweater Weather with Headbands

This winter just won't quit! I've been staying cozy indoors in fleece-lined leggings and oversized sweaters.  But we were able earlier this week to venture out of doors for another sweater weather OOTD! These boots have definitely seen a LOT of action this season! sweater- Mango , dress- Amazon , headband- Anthropologie , necklaces- Benevolence LA & Merjui , watch- Wenger , ring- Merjuri , boots-Sorel(similar here ), leggings- Athleivate In this post I styled this cozy comfy sweater with jeans, a pea coat, and fedora.  But as you can see the snow is melting and  I've layered this fringed beauty over a maxi-dress and deployed a headband.  It's been over a year since I've had a hair cut and I've somewhat embraced the longer length, but mostly I find myself piling my hair into a messy bun. Love how this headband gives it more of a "done" feel.  Another thing I love about this outfit is of course, the pockets, and also the subtle drama that comes wi...

Black & Navy Flowers thru Windowpanes

On a warmish day here recently, I had some fun with a eclectic outfit for the daycare pickup run.  coatigan- Nordstrom Rack , sweater-Mango(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(similar here ), combat boots-Nordstrom(similar here ), ring- Skelton Jewelry , lips- MAC nail- tenoverten I've never been one to shy away from an eclectic OOTD, as seen here and here . For this outfit I layered a cropped sweater top under a coatigan as a mid-layer then shed my overcoat for a few quick pics on the way to daycare pickup. These pull-on flannel pants are such a fun take on winter loungewear. The print suggests a more springtime vibe, but the dark colors and fabric are right in line with winterwear. The combat boots, dark lip, and darker nail give the overall look a bit of edge, while the ring is a subtle accessory, no need for any other jewelry. Was this a bit much for a school run? Do the teachers, kids, and other parents even notice?  Am I wearing elevated clown pants? Should I have stood...
