Another Short Post

The warm weather just keeps hanging on, so even though we are now officially into autumn I'm still outfitting with shorts both for work and casually.  In my last post I added a cardigan to a transitional look with shorts. Here, I've paired a printed button-down with a loose linen-blend trouser short for a more formal feel.  For rolled sleeves here, I flipped up the cuffs and worked them up to the elbow, and then did another fold over above the elbow to secure them. This method is great for silkier/slippery fabric.  Buzzy buzzy bees in some psychedelic shades. shirt-J.Crew(similar here ), shorts- Old Navy , sunnies-Kate Spade(similar here ), loafers-Anne Klein(similar here ), ring-Jewel Mint(available via Poshmark here ), watch-Wenger(similar here ) On a side note, the brand of Jewelmint, has taken quite a turn in the past decade. What started as a subscription-based jewelry brand backed by a celebrity is now a faith-based jewelry company offering necklaces with "W...

One Last Hooray for Shorts

Now that school has started and the smells and feels of fall are on the horizon, I figured I give some pairs of shorts a final wear before storing away my summer gear. This pair of patterned shorts has made a few appearances on the blog back in 2020 and 2021 . For this outfit I've worn them in a transitional look styled with this roomy cardigan.  cardi-Gap(similar here ), shorts- Uniqlo , tank- T-Shirt Wholesaler , sunnies- Kate Spade , necklace- Ana Luisa , earrings- Wisteria Sky Boutique via Etsy(similar here ), tote- Handsome Podcast , sandals- Marc Fisher  Unfortunately the tote is no longer available, but there is still some fun merch from this podcast. Also, this cardi, is made from a sweatshirt-like material rather than a knit, which works great as a transitional piece and feels more durable. Posting this here on Friday the 13th has my last summer look. I'm going to kick-off my autumnal/spooky season in upcoming posts. Thanks for reading.

Happy Solstice

The first day of winter is almost upon us and I'm continuing my rustic theme mode of holiday dressing and getting sh*t done in these coveralls! coveralls-Everlane(similar here ), dickie-Gap(full length version here ), boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom, sunnies- Kate Spade , earrings- Amazon , bracelet- Bayou With Love , rings- Mejuri and Nordstrom , pin- Ceremonial The solstice is the perfect time to explore a bit of witchy-ness. This Steve Nicks pin is a subtle nod to that vibe, while these utility overalls are all about getting the business done! It's a hectic time of year and while I wouldn't call this 'fit fashion with a capital "F" it's definitely a strong look. I love a one piece that makes a statement without too many bells and whistles.   We'll be traveling for the holidays, but hopefully weekly posts will resume in the new year. Take care this season!

Holiday Shacket

We are two weeks from Christmas folks and are in the peak of holiday style season. In years past I've outfitted around particular themes, color stories, etc. This year I'm exploring more rustic pieces like this plaid shacket! Shacket-- Nordstrom , Turtleneck-- Uniqlo , Skirt-- Gap , Sunnies-- Kate Spade , Earrings-- Newitin via Amazon , Necklace-- Marly Schiff via FabFitFun , Watch-- Monroe , Boots- Vince Camuto via Nordstrom The minty green of this plaid gives it a holiday feel, but works just as well for autumn and into winter. I can even see this outerwear for spring. Paired with these slick knit pieces elevates the shacket for a more refined, but still outdoorsy take on festive fashion. I suspect as we get closer to Christmas I'll be amping up the holiday glam, but for now I'm happy keeping the looks on the cozy-casual side.
