Spring Scarf

scarf / jacket - Le Tote , shirt-Gap(similar here ), pants-Uniqlo(more options here ), loafers- G. H. Bass , watch-Michael Kors(similar here ) Like sweaters(as discussed in this post ), scarves are usually associated with autumn however, the transitional season of spring provides ample opportunities to outfit with a scarf! This dotted, diamond-print wrap pairs perfectly with my bird-print trousers (also a spring staple), together they provide an eclectic counterpoint to the standard office shirt and neutral, knitwear bomber jacket. Like cardigans, a springtime scarf allows you to play with layers and can be quite functional on chilly April/May mornings.  An additional note on functionality, the "sweatshirt" fabric of this bomber is great for baby drool!

Tunic Vote

In yesterday's post I reveled in the challenge of re-purposing my dresses into maternity tunics, but there are two sides to every outfitting coin and I'm finding work-appropriate maternity top options to be dwindling here as of late. I'm not a fan of actual maternity shirts because they really ONLY work with a bump. The close-fitting kind are just NOT flattering postpartum, and the more voluminous shirts are WAY too big after baby arrives. Plus, I find it hard to justify a new purchase (and get pumped for it) if I only have three more months to wear it.  So I'm looking to tunic options, particularly from ModCloth (I have a store credit) and in thinking ahead to the fall, wanting a shirt that'll see me through the rest of my pregnancy, during my postpartum period, and be a cute piece for my return to work.  Cast your votes in the comments!  A. Cotton Floral Tunic I have this same shirt in chambray, seen here  and here , so it's a proven piec...

Cool Mom OOTD

cardigan-Saks off Fifth(similar here ), top/sunnies-Target(similar here and here ), joggers-Unqilo(similar here ), sneakers- Vans Remember Monday when it was sunny, bright, and a high in the 50s? Yeah, that was a good day... And I had a super-cute "cool mom" outfit for our jaunt in the park! Busting out my bird-print joggers, which are the quintessential spring-time pant, and quite accommodating for my 6th month bump, topped by this comfy, extra-long cardigan as outerwear with it's extra set of pockets. Then finished off this OOTD with another great spring piece--these slip-on kicks. Oh Spring, it was good to see you, please come back soon... 😦

Birds & Bare Branches

blazer-Gap(more jackets & blazers here ), dress-eShakti(more shifts here ), scarf-Gifted from The Bombay Store , leggings- Target , boots- Sam Edelman via Nordstrom I LOVE this pics! It's always so satisfying when an outfit and a background come together like this bird & branch novelty-print dress and the bare trees in the park. Also, the overcast sky and muted green & grey tones really make the oranges in the scarf and dress POP! Plus, my hair and the slight breeze make for some utterly dynamic photos, don't you think?! I first featured this frock in a Holiday Outfitting post here . And in that post I mentioned how the print lends itself to the transitional season between winter and spring, which these images proof without a doubt! The oversized blazer, is a great outerwear alternative, as seen here , and these waterproof boots make for a sleek, yet practical choice during the damp days of a late-winter thaw. Fashi...

ModCloth Style Gallery

I recently started posting on ModCloth's Style Gallery (I know, took me long enough) and here are my OOTD pics thus far (with links to the original posts): Windowpanes & Leather Birds & Sea Creatures More Than a Vest A Case for Dresses & Socks What an an eclectic mix of styles on display, if I do say so myself. 😉 And while I may have "aged out" of the ModCloth core demographic they are still part of my retail roster when I'm looking for basics, like the olive tunic in the top pick, and something with a bit of feminine flair, like this retro-inspired dress .  Be sure to follow me on the Style Gallery here !

Holiday Dressing--Winter Prints

dress- eShakti , coatigan- Le Tote , scarf-J.Crew(similarish here ), boots-Lifestride via DSW(similar here ) For another take on Holiday Dressing, I'm going in a subtle direction with this winter-themed novelty print of bare branches and birds. Of course, let's face it, I've been far from obvious in my holiday outfitting so far this season, as seen here , here , and here . And yes, I've styled this frock in an almost identical way to my last post featuring an eShakti dress, but the white background of this shift makes it a striking choice, not only for this month, but in the winter month ahead. Speaking of shifts, this silhouette is perfect for the copious amounts of food coming my way over the next two weeks. Bring on the desserts!  I'll be taking a break from posting the rest of this year as I'll be traveling with family, and plan on spending most of next week in sweatpants and hoodies, its time to get hygge ! Here's to a ...
