Gift Guide Part 3--Literature

So far I've covered beauty products and socks in this year's round of gift guides, which are prefect gift categories for the coming winter. To add to that list--reading! Here are a few books from my Books Worth Reading Pinterest board, first up--poetry! James Allen Hall's "I Liked You Better Before I Knew You So Well" from the CSU Poetry Center I LOVED Hall's 1st book   Now You're the Enemy , which won awards from the Texas Institute of Letters, the Lambda Literary Foundation, and the Fellowship of Southern Writers. Backpacks, Boy Shorts, Baby Dress, & Poetry

As this week is winding down and I don't have any outfit pics in the hopper, I wanted to share a few retailers, books, and thoughts that have been swirling around in my outfitting and reading life... These shorts are kind of ridic, but I also kind of love them... they are sold out, but the idea of browsing in the men's department isn't ridiculous at all. I'm a big fan of both Zara and Forever 21's male section.  But enough about retail fantasies for myself, let's move on to baby girl!   N...

We each take turns picking the books and then discuss them during a phone date. I have to say we've had quite an eclectic selection!      The Interestings by Meg Wolizter Jenni picked this one and because it tells the story of a close-knit group of friends and how those friendships evolved over time it really struck a cord for us. We've been friends since HS, going on 18 years(!!!!). In terms of the plot, we really enjoyed how it flashed back and forward and around, that structure kept things interested and created moments of surprise.  But, we felt the ending was kind of "meh".  Slouching Towards Bethlehem by Joan Didion This was one of my picks, and to be honest I'd not read Didion until this book, her first. I loved the sense of place of California at ...
