Outfits Not Just Clothes

All the textures in this post with this nubby sweater, knit hat and gloves, plus I'm kind of loving the wooden background. And it's a leather party on the bottom! That didn't come out as I meant it.... sweater- Madewell (more sweaters here ), pants- Zara , gloves & hat-Old Navy(more options here ), boots- Nordstrom (similar Dr. Martens here ) From fringe and jeans to oversized and leather, #sweaterweather season is at its peak in this #OOTD. I love the cozy factor of this sweater against the badassery of these leather trousers and combat boots. As mentioned above there is so much texture here! That's one of the great things about colder vs. warmer weather outfitting, is that you have more opportunity to mix/layer colors, materials, and prints.  

It's that time of year again, The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is upon us!!!! Early access for cardholders starts today! Even though we are still in the haggardly throes of a sticky hot summer, I'm doing a bit of self-care daydreaming about the crisp-cool weather ahead and browsing sweaters.  Halogen Three Quarter Sleeve Sweater Just a simple form-fitting pink sweater. Either way, this comfy chunky knit is giving me all the autumnal realness I crave as Halloween approaches. These cropped pants, hooded trench, and rugged boots also speak to the season, and while I kept the rest of this OOTD fairly muted in tone, to let this on-trend statement sweater be the center of attention, if you look at the detail shots you can see a hint of orange in the plaid of the trousers.  Not so muted after all, eh?

The current knitwear trend includes off-the-shoulder silhouettes, prints, and embellishments, like fringe and tassels. And while this pullover isn't necessarily "of the moment" it's a great piece for late fall/early winter AND a comfy option for holiday dressing. To balance out the bulkiness of the sweater I went with these tweedy shorts, tights, and legwarmers. Loving how these shorts "match" my basic Costco-brand trench!
