April Showers Bring May Flower Overalls

On this last day of April I wanted to share this ready-for-the-rain outfit! Wore this on what we starting calling a "Cutey Day" when you go to cute shops, drink cute coffee, buy cute things, have a cute look. We explored one of our favorite neighbors, Lawrenceville and shopped small.  rain jacket--Asos(similar here ), overalls- Cider , shirt-Gap(similar here ), sunnies- Diff Eyewear , earrings-- Amazon , necklace-- Boheme Vendor , boots-Nordstrom(similar here ) I usually wear these overalls in the fall, as seen in this post here . But they are actually kind of ideal for spring, no? Went with a basic top, pop-of-color boots, and black floral jewelry. The polka dot rain coat, was of necessity, but I think it actually works for a fun bit of pattern mixing/contrast.  Check out the shop small/shop local haul over on Instagram here .

Stripes & Leopard Print

Another post in front(ish) of a river. This time the Allegheny with PNC Park in the background. Shooting downtown always yields striking pics. This is what I wore for the Mae Martin show The Possum at the Byham Theatre last week.  cardi / earrings --Amazon, turtle shell-Gap(more turtles here ), pants- Uniqlo , sunnies- Diff Eyewear , necklace-Slide Jewels(similar here ), bracelet / ring -Ana Luisa, tote- Handsome Podcast , sneaker-Cole Haan(more options here ) These pants are part of  "matching set" featured here . I love the idea of olive green with graphic black and white stripes, just feels so fresh, but easy. These leopard print sneakers stand out, while also being seamlessly part of the outfit.  My tote is from the Handsome Podcast which Mae is one of the co-host, but even if we weren't attending the show, I think the bag still works no matter the destination of the look.

Cowboy Boots & Floral Skirts

Western wear has seen a resurgence here with the Cowboy Carter of it all, among other influences. I'm not one for cowgirl cosplay, but I do enjoy a good boot. Here I've styled by western boots with a mixed print autumnal outfit.  Blazer-- Luciano Barbera via Threadflip(now defunct), henley-Gap(similar here ), shirt-Uniqlo(similar here ), skirt- Amazon , boots-Coconuts via DSW(similar here ), necklace/bracelet- Slide Jewelry , ring/necklace-Ana Luisa(similar here and here ) I last featured these boots in a spring/summer look here . And I styled them with this same skirt back in April here . While this top is part of a "matching set" featured here  I'm doing the classic styling hack of "breaking it up" and the olive green coordinates with the skirt. You can watch my reel of the cinching drawstring features of this shirt here .  Again I'm wearing the promotional Slide Jewelry set. Feel Good Outfit

Now that it's officially fall I'm starting to layer with sweaters, sweatshirts, and vests over button-downs, and wearing boots. And there's something about red boots in particular this time of year that gives me all of the good feels.  sweatshirt- Grace & Stella , shirt & jeans--Thrifted from Thriftique (both menswear), boots--Nordstrom(similar here ), sunnies--Versace(more options here ), bracelets-- Nordstrom , ring--Ana Luisa(similar here ), earrings-- Amazon Yes, this sweatshirt is merch from a skincare/makeup company, and it goes great with this plaid men's button-up. I wore this to a recent screening of the documentary Find Hygge  and tried to subtly dress toward the theme, in comfortable garments with details (like these red boots) that made me feel good, comfortable, and happy.  I've outfitted around the concept of Hygge in the past as seen in these posts here and here . And while it may seem that comfy/cozy fair isle is the statement of Hygge, re...
