Shoes!

It's been chilly, snowy, and slushy here in the 'Burgh aka typical winter weather. And with slush and the muck snow boots are de rigueur, which puts a damper in my regular shoe game. So, here's a look back on some past shoe shots from some of my favorite outfits! On dry winter days, you can bust out some fun booties, like this leopard pair layered up with tights AND socks.  Red heels in sunset! Wedge boots in high def from Zara ! Some fun and functional bright kicks from Old Navy Had to include this shot of my peacock backed tights from ModCloth , who needs a statement heel with these hose?  Basic, yet chic Mary Janes from Nine West Patchwork suede boots from DSW Longing for spring looking at these pink loafers via DSW .  KILLAH platform stilettos from Forever 21 ! New Baby New Shoes

Having a baby and hauling said baby to daycare everyday can really put a kink in your step, and your shoe style. Plus our daycare has a "no shoes in classroom" policy, mentioned in yesterday's post , which means I have to take off my shoes when I enter her classroom for drop off & pick up.  So the days of intricate/strappy footwear are suspended until further notice. Hence, I'm in need of supportive, stylish, and easy to slip on/off shoes for the next 5-7 years of my life! So, I've ordered a few pairs, and have my eye a few others.... Dr. Scholls It doesn't get more supportive than Dr. Scholls, amiright? I snagged these polka-dotted slip-ons from a Zulily sale, and not only am I looking forward to sporting some dots here this spring & summer, I'm also super-psyched about the tread! The rainy days of April are here and there's nothing more disheartening than damp feet from flimsy flats, can I get an "Amen"!? ModCloth T...

Brown Loafers Neeed...Maybe?

I am 64 days into my Year of No Shopping announced here .  And I have a dilemma, a shoe dilemma, one might even go as far as to call this a loafer-lemma.  My sturdy, go-to, brown loafers from Bass are falling apart and they are a staple in my wardrobe.          I'm wondering if I can buy a replacement pair? If the damage was merely superficial, I would argue no. However, a rainy morning of runny errands with wet feet is a sign that the shoes are done. Here's a possible replacement pair: Bass   These are a bit pricey, but so were the previous pair and I had them since 2008! So cost-per-wear is high. This pairs also caught my eye:   Shoe Mint   So, what do we think? Do I have a case here for suspending the shopping hiatus for a few minutes and ordering new brown loafers?  And which pair?

Rained Out

I've been totally neglecting my outfitting this week. With the wind and the rain I've been keeping it pretty basic and comfy.  But I hope to be back in full force next week with fierce and fabulous outfit posts.  In the meantime I'll be checking out the Future Ten play festival (tickets only $10) this Saturday and we have a couple dinner planned at Taste of Dahtahn.   So as the rain recedes the outfits will emerge.  Now here are some pictures of shoes!!!!

Shoe Note Cards

I recently got a set of blank note cards from ModCloth : From ModCloth My shoes, aka my slippers. Each card has a citation. My favorites. And these cards live here: My messy desk.  Pictures of family, books, CDs, magazine clippings. Kind of an inspiration board.  And the black and white photo at right is Mr. Keller as a toddler. Adorable if I do say so myself. This weekend finds me at the Green Tree Library's "The Stylish Gal's Guide to Thrifting: Workshop, Luncheon and Shopping Field Trip!" You can still register here . I have NO CLUE what I'm wearing for that.  I figure something that I would wear out shopping, like jeans, flats, a t-shirt, but you know I like to "bring it!"  Also up for me is a Sexy-Librarian themed bachlorette party.  I picked up a few pairs of these: as party favors.  Should be an interesting evening...
