Printed Joggers & Chambray

cardi-Zara(similar here ), shirt-Gap(similar here ), joggers-Anthropologie(similar here ), flats-Champion(similar here ) via Target The cardigan was a game-day addition to this printed joggers and chambray shirt combo. But, it ended up creating some interesting layers, as well as being functionally necessary on the semi-chilly morning we took these shots. A case of function equaling fashion! The original concept for this outfit came from a fellow blogger I stumbled upon on Chictopia : Tulips & Heels Generally, I advise against exactly replicating and inspirational outfit, but in this instance it's pretty much a point-for-point imitation, but for the heels and bag.

Blogger of the Month

Earlier this week I was the featured Blogger of the Month over at  Melodic, Thrifty & Chic !!! Anna and I discovered each other over on  Chictopia and I've been admiring her style for months. She had some VERY nice things to stay about my outfitting skills in this post here !  She also featured some of my favorite looks: Original Post Original Post Original Post Looking at these pics/outfits gosh I miss my body... No joke! I really miss not being pregnant and I miss being able to move, run, jump, wear my clothes, feel good about myself naked. You know I had some body issues pre-baby, but now, looking back I realize I was in GREAT shape! Thanks Anna   for the feature and the reminder of how slamming my bod used to be! Also, you can follow me on Chicotopia here and follow Anna here . Like us on Facebook Outfits Not Just Clothes , and Melodic, Thrifty & Chic . Lace & Pinstripes Inspiration

Over on Chictopia I came across this outfit inspiration from fellow member Danielle_M And here's my take an an office outfit from last week! vest-Old Navy(jacket version here ), shirt- Joseph Altuzarra for Target , skirt- Mikkat Market , necklace-J.Crew Factory(similar here ), bracelet/rings- Jewel Mint , shoes-Forever 21(similar here ) The great thing about this outfit is that it's made up of pieces I've had for quite sometime, well over a year or two, which is one of the things I love about inspiration photos from other "real world" sources, they provide ideas that bring a newness to "old" garments. I'm also enjoying the mix of menswear with delicate pieces. A white lace skirt can be tricky to pull off, it's uber-fem AND can be vintage-y, which doesn't always jive with my modern androgynous aesthetic. Ideally, it's all about finding things to balance out those vibes, while s...

Fellow Blogger Inspiration

blazer-J.Crew(similar here ), shirt- Skies are Blue via Le Tote , pants-Zara(similar here ), necklace-Banana Republic(similar here ), bracelet- Michael Kors , heels- Isabel Toledo for Payless available on Ebay here  This outfit was inspired by this pic from a blogger out in Seattle Discovered on   Chictopia from Blogger Not Billionaire   These leather pants are similar to the pair I got on sale from Zara .  And, of course I gravitated right away to the striped shirt ( obviously ), but then received this blouse in my latest Le Tote package and a decided to switch up my approach. The colors of this plaid work beautifully with my cobalt blue blazer and from there the outfit came together. Originally, I wasn't going to pair socks with these striped heels (again with the stripes) but it was a bit brisk this past week and bare toes where not an option for this outfitter.  As I've shown in the past here an...

An Audrey-Inspired Outfit

Yep, that's a googly-eyed igloo in the background.  shirt/shorts/sandals-J.Crew Factory (similar here , here , and here ), bag-Avon(cute option here ), sunnies-Ralph Lauren(similar here ), necklaces-Forever 21(similar here ), bracelet/rings- Jewel Mint Over at Chicotopia one of the trendy ladies I follow Mojuzzy recently took inspiration from Brigitte Bardot and gave the vintage style a modern/edgy twist. But here's the cool thing Mojuzzy doesn't resemble the hourglass, blond, French style star, but made the look her own, which I love.  So taking inspiration off of her inspiration I immediately thought of doing my own take on some classic Audrey Hepburn. A) Love her style, she's like THE icon right? B) My body type and aesthetic are far left field from the doe-eyed, dark-haired gamine style she is so often associated with. So I found this image on the interwebs when I Googled Audrey Hepburn Summer Style and come up with the o...
